Abstract: 

Introduction: Clinical performance of light cured resin composites is related to their degree of polymerization. The purpose of this study was to compare the degree of conversion of packable and hybrid composites by FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy).Materials & Methods: In this experimental study, 40 composite disks were prepared in two groups from Z250 and P60 composites. Each group was divided into four subgroups (2mm thickness cured with QTH unit, 2mm thickness cured with LED unit, 5mm thickness cured with QTH unit, and 5mm thickness cured with LED unit). Then samples were evaluated by FTIR to determine the degree of conversion (DC). Data were analyzed by Kolmogorov-Smirnov and three way ANOVA.Results: There was not a significant difference among the DC of the materials tested. LED significantly increased the degree of conversion of materials tested (P<0.001). DC values were significantly greater in 2mm diameter samples vs 5mm ones (P<0.001).Conclusion: The use of incremental technique in deep cavities restored with these composites is suggested. Also using LED is advised for curing composites because of a better result.

Abstract: 

Digital spectroscopy with Silicon Photomultiplier (SiPM) array coupled on CsI(Tl) crystal, needs some consideration to achieve desirable energy resolution. an array of SiPMs must be used with large scintillation crystal, therewithal signal from whole SiPMs is not ideal. Also silicon pixels are arranged in arrays at regular intervals. The distances between the pixels and the interference of the cross-talk of adjacent pixels are undesirable factors for energy resolution when the light is received by the crystal and transmitted to the SiPM array. On the other hand, due to the advantages of the SiPM array, there is a need to improve the energy resolution in order to be able to be applied. In this paper, an attempt is made to obtain the desired energy resolution by using the digital spectroscopy method and digital filters and properly shaping the output pulse of the preamplifier by the trapezoidal filter method. In this case, it will be possible to use it in different applications such as spectroscopy by the detector.

Abstract: 

Vibrational spectroscopy is a complete tool for identifying and determining the structure of organic compounds, including drugs, food, polymer materials, explosives, etc. When talking about vibrational spectroscopy, usually the name of infrared method comes to mind, not Raman spectroscopy. In recent decades, there has been a development in the Raman method, especially in its instrumental part. These developments have led to its unique applications in various industries. This article deals with theory, instrumentation, sampling methods and applications of Raman spectroscopy.

Abstract: 

The paper reviews the past 11 years of literature on the application of diode lasers in atomic absorption spectrometry with graphite furnaces (GF), plasmas and flames as atomizers. Experimental arrangements and techniques for powerful absorption measurements as well as the theoretical background are covered. The analytical possibilities of high-resolution spectroscopy, including Dopplerfree techniques for isotope selective measurements and isotope dilution analysis are discussed and various applications of element-selective detection by diode laser atomic absorption in combination with separation techniques, such as liquid (LC) and gas chromatography (GC), and with laser ablation of solid samples, are presented.

Abstract: 

Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is a spectroscopic method that uses the near-infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Typical applications include medical and physiological diagnostics. NIRS can be used for non-invasive assessment of brain function through the intact skull in human subjects by detecting changes in blood hemoglobin concentrations associated with neural activity, e. g., in branches of cognitive psychology as a partial replacement for fMRI techniques. NIRS cannot fully replace fMRI because it can only be used to scan cortical tissue, where fMRI can be used to measure activation throughout the brain. In this approach we compared NIRS with different functional brain tests.

Abstract: 

زمینه و هدف: سرطان پروستات شایع ترین سرطان در میان مردان و پس از سرطان ریه شایع ترین عامل مرگ و میر ناشی از سرطان در جنس مذکر است. بررسی هیستوپاتولوژیک برای تشخیص بیماری سرطان پروستات استاندارد طلایی است، لیکن به جهت تهاجمی بودن بیوپسی، تمایل به انجام روش های کم تر تهاجمی بیش تر است. بدین علت روش های تصویربرداری کم تر تهاجمی در سال های اخیر مورد توجه قرار گرفته است. هدف اصلی از انجام این مطالعه تعیین ارتباط نسبت مجموع کولین و کراتین به سیترات در ماگنتیک رزونانس اسپکتروسکوپی با میزان تهاجم تومور (نمره گلیسون) در بیماران مبتلا به سرطان پروستات بر اساس مدارک پاتولوژی آنان می باشد.روش بررسی: 200 بیمار که دارای نتایج پاتولوژی سرطان پروستات بودند وارد یک مطالعه مقطعی شدند. بیماران به صورت غیر تصادفی در دسترس انتخاب شدند. تمام بیماران تحت Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) قرار گرفتند و نتایج به دست آمده در خصوص نسبت مجموع کولین و کراتین به سیترات با نتایج پاتولوژی بیماران مقایسه شد.یافته ها: در بیماران دارای نمره گلیسون کم تر از سه، میانگین مجموع کولین و کراتین به سیترات 245.8±146.9، در بیماران با نمره سه الی چهار، 427.1±173.6 و در بیماران با نمره بیش از چهار، 587.3±218.3 بود (P<0.001). در بیماران با Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) کم تر از چهار میانگین مجموع کولین و کراتین به سیترات 180.7±58.3، در گروه PSA چهار الی 10، 247±93.5 و در گروه PSA بیش از 10، 385.1±107.6 بود (P<0.001).نتیجه گیری: نسبت مجموع کولین و کراتین به سیترات در بیماران با تهاجم کانسر پروستات دارای رابطه معنی داری می باشد و از آن می توان در مرحله بندی کانسر پروستات در بیماران استفاده نمود.

Abstract: 

Gamma rays associated with the decay of states in 102Ag nucleus have been identified, sixty-four of them for the first time following the reaction 50Cr (56Fe, 3pn) 102Ag at a mean energy of 195 MeV. Identification was made using an array of nine, escapesuppressed Ge detectors coupled to a Daresbury Recoil Separator. Excited states in 102Ag were identified using recoil-gamma and gamma-gamma coincidences. From the intensity balance and the coincidence data, a new set of levels was identified which may be interpreted as the reminiscent of "three quasiparticle" bands in neighboring odd-mass nuclei and similar to a four quasi-particle band observed in 106Ag.
