Abstract

The present article is written with the aim of examining the Ecotourism capabilities of Chamran Park in Karaj as a modern recreational area and tries to evaluate this area as an economic, social, cultural and ecological area. To achieve the goals, this paper uses two strategic planning models to provide management solutions called SWOT models and Stakeholder matrix. The results showed that the strengths with a weight score of 3. 25, opportunities 2. 52, weaknesses 1. 94 and threats 1. 7 were ranked first to fourth, respectively. Then, by examining the tourism management status chart for each group, five strategies were identified in which the aggressive-competitive mode was recognized as the most effective and then the diversification, review and defense strategies were recognized as the second to fourth groups, respectively. Therefore, the diversification strategy with the title of coping with land use change versus guilds with a weight score of 56 was identified as the most important priority in implementing the strategies. According to the points, this recreational area needs to eliminate its weaknesses and increase the strengths. Thus, it is afforded to process Ecotourism management condition of Chamran Park by evaluating Ecotourism capabilities of this region and introduce this region as one of the suburban and urban tourism destinations in Karaj city.
