Abstract

Choroidal osteoma is a benign bony & rare tumor of unknown etiology that arises from choroid. It is observed unilaterally or bilaterally in young adults, more commonly in women. In this report a case of left eye choroidal osteoma was detected in a 60 year old man who had reduced visual acuity (V/A) since 15 months. The diagnosis was confirmed by flourscein angiography, ultrasonography and CT scan. The significance of a correct diagnosis is in differentiating it from other intraocular tumors. There is no known effective therapy for choroidal osteoma, but periodic observation is warranted for C.N.V management.
