Objective: This study aims to investigate the library anxiety of students, and the effect of library skills instruction and library tours on decreasing their library anxiety.Methodology: The population of study- which conducted using the “pretest-posttest” experimental method- was 75 first year students at the University of Malaya, a research-intensive university in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. First, the levels of students’ library anxiety were investigated using a revised version of the Bostick’s library Anxiety Scale. Then, study participants were divided into three groups: first group participated in educational library skills instruction sessions; second group participated in library tours without attending in library skills instruction sessions; and students in the third group neither participated in library skills instruction sessions nor library tours.Findings: The levels of participant’s library anxiety were investigated using the same instrument after two weeks. Findings of the study revealed that although there were no statistically significant differences between pre-test of three groups, the levels of library anxiety among the students in the second group were statistically significantly decreased. On the other hand, students in the second group reported to have experienced lower levels of library anxiety after participation in library skills instruction sessions, but not at a statistically significant level.

Human advancements in science and technology have also developed to libraries leading to the emergence of the phenomenon of the digital libraries. Therefore, authors decided to open the new view in the development of science and technology by examining both the copyright and digital library. It seems that in the digital library we must distinguish between two types of public and private libraries. Founder of the private libraries is required to satisfy the owner's personal needs. But it is not the case in public libraries. And According to Article 8 of "The protection the rights of authors, composers and artists act 1348" the founders should be exempted from the authorization of the copyright owner. Of course such an attitude is defendable about users without ability to download resources who have just the ability to read them. But about libraries that users can download resources from, this idea is not defendable.

Objective: Information and communication technologies have created new horizons to eradicate the limitations of traditional interactive systems. Providing electronic public services in libraries is one of the optimum applications of these technologies. This applied research, investigated the attitude of users of academic libraries in providing electronic public services in academic libraries.Methodology: To achieve the objectives, descriptive- analytical method is used. The research community was selected by stratified random sampling among Tehran university students, using researcher made questionnaire.Findings: The results showed that the amount of cognitions of the students about the various kinds of electronic public services was below the average. General attitude of the students of the different universities in Tehran to provide such services was positive, and their education level in this kind of attitude was ineffective.Conclusion: There was a significant positive correlation between the students’ use of electronic public services and the amount of their cognition about these services, and also between their attitude and cognition about the aforementioned services.

INTRUDUCTION: This study aimed to compare the nature, advantages and disadvantages of folksonomies with those of controlled vocabularies and to review the literature related to library Thing social tags and library of Congress Subject Headings. METHODOLOGY: This study was a library research and a comparative study. FINDINGS: Folksonomies has some advantages, including being up-to-date, user oriented, money-saving and non-training, but with some disadvantages, including inconsistency, lack of context, and lack of both precision and recall that can be provided by controlled vocabularies. Thus, it is proposed that these are complementary rather than replacement for each other. CONCLUSIONS: Literature review of library Thing social tags and library of Congress Subject Headings showed that studies in this field have been conducted by different research methods and sampling approaches and in various and special areas. There is some match (approximately 50%) between library Thing social tags and library of Congress Subject Headings that is inappropriate for replacement. It can be concluded that these two information organization systems can be complementary to each other.

Purpose: With the aim of introducing toy libraries together with their associated goals, services, activities and structures, and through presenting an image of world experiences in the field, this research tries to emphasize the increasing importance of such centers in children’s development and remind the necessity of the respective practical activities in Iran.Methodology: This research has used library study. Toy libraries in the world which had website and portal were identified. In total, status of 50 libraries was investigated.Findings: Different characteristics of these libraries were studied, including their budget, services, size of the collection, types of materials, organization method, and rules. Finally, the suggestion was made so as to establish “the Iranian national game and toy library”.Originality/Value: This is the first research of its type which has made an attempt to provide the novel idea of establishing “the Iranian national game and toy library” based upon identification of world toy libraries and introduction to them. Not only the goal of such a library would be to maintain Iranian game and toy culture, but also providing services in this field is among its main goals.

Objectives: The development of information justice at national level requires equal access to information resources. One of the major sources of information in any country is libraries which, due to different reasons, are accessed by only a limited number of people. In fact, library is the space for soft development of knowledge. In other words, by developing intellectual context and content of theoretical development, library prepares the ground for knowledge development. In particular, public libraries increase the possibility of justice in access to knowledge and information. Method: The present study, by observing the accumulated capacities in the center, adopts a phenomenological approach to the issue of holographic library with the aim of developing access, and then, uses system design method by applying four figures of information trend. Findings: The idea of holographic library is based upon the sacred idea of dissemination of knowledge as a duty. At the heart of this idea lies the fact that in any part of the country and the world, it should be possible to access the highest amount of information without any limitation. If electronic library is accessed by all people without any extra cost, it becomes possible to increase knowledge and justice in gaining knowledge.

Background and Aim: Respecting the clients is an important element for every successful information system. This study was done to determine the users' satisfaction rate with the services offered by the Central library of Birjand University of Medical Sciences.Materials and Methods: In this descriptive analytical study, 400 students, through systematic sampling, and other members, by means of census, were studied. A self-made questionnaire was designed based on the study goals and its content validity was approved by a number of professionals. The obtained data were analyzed by means of SPSS software using statistical tests, at the significant level of P<0.05.Results: Out of 696 cases studied, 53% were students, 27% were employees, 16% were faculty members and 4% were ordinary members of the library. Satisfaction rate of the users were in the order of: educational workshops (88.6%), personnel treatment (85.2%), book loaning services (84.8%), Physical and welfare facilities (82.2%), information services (65.5%), quality of sources (54.7%), quantity of sources (53.4%) and references and journals (51.6%). Faculty members had the highest mean satisfaction scores regarding book loaning services, references and journals, physical and welfare facilities, educational workshops, and personnel treatment. The working period of the library was appropriate for %76.7 of the library users. Students' satisfaction was significantly lower than other users in most of the fields (P<0.01).Conclusion: The average satisfaction rate of Central library's members in most of the aspects was high. In order to improve the quantity and quality of the library services, it is suggested that the library activity hours, number and period of the sources' loaning, number of the computers and period of using the Internet be increased.
