Abstract:

Background: An essential requirement exists for a single exhaustive source of anthropometric databank in Iran. Available information about Iranian bodily dimensions is not applicable to the general population due to the sample of people investigated. This study aimed to present the first Iranian anthropometric databank by estima-tion. Methods: After a systematic review, 24 relevant sources of information were found and included. No time limit was considered. The method of Rapid Anthropometrics Scaled for Height was used. Results: Overall, 36 bodily dimensions were estimated, for which the seven percentiles of 1st, 5th, 25th, 50th, 75th, 95th, and 99th were calculated, stratified by sex. Conclusion: The resulting tables can be claimed as the most representative anthropometric databank for Iranian general 20-64 yr population now. Data are suitable for practical purpose and are applicable in both occupational and community setting.

Abstract:

Estimation of a quantile density function from biased data is a frequent problem in industrial life testing experiments and medical studies. The estimation of a quantile density function in the biased nonparametric regression model is inves-tigated. We propose and develop a new wavelet-based methodology for this problem. In particular, an adaptive hard thresholding wavelet estimator is constructed. Under mild assumptions on the model, we prove that it enjoys powerful mean integrated squared error properties over Besov balls. The performance of proposed estimator is investigated by a numerical study. In this study, we develop two types of wavelet estimators for the quantile density function when data comes from a biased distribution function. Our wavelet hard thresholding estimator which is introduced as a nonlinear estimator, has the feature to be adaptive according to q(x). We show that these estimators attain optimal and nearly optimal rates of convergence over a wide range of Besov function classes.

Abstract:

The main aim of this article is to present error approximations for Hermite-Hadamard inequalities, which are connected with $_{\omega_{1}}\mathfrak{q}$-fractional calculus operators and are based on $\mathrm{(\rho, m)}$-convex functions. The investigation revolves around our primary results, which are established using a specific identity. Moreover, we demonstrate that the results  from earlier literature can be derived as special cases from our more comprehensive findings.

Abstract:

Background and Objectives: Since exact manner of BKZ algorithm for higher block sizes cannot be studied by practical running, therefore simulation of BKZ is used to predict the total cost of BKZ and quality of output basis. This paper revises some main components of BKZ-simulation for better predictions. Methods: At first, by definition of full-enumeration success probability, the optimal enumeration radius is formally defined. Next, this paper defines three more pruning types, besides the well-known pruning by bounding function in GNR-enumerations, and consequently uses these four pruning types collectively in revision of success probability estimation. Also, by using these four pruning types and the process of updating-radius, this paper revises the estimation of enumeration cost. Finally, this paper introduces a simple technique to generate partially better bounding functions. Results: For block sizes of 50≤β≤240, better domains of radius parameters in GNR enumeration are formally introduced. Also, our revised estimation of success probability (for GNR bounding function) in our test results shows non-negligible gap from former estimations in some main former studies. Moreover, our results show that the cost results by our proposed estimator of GNR-enumeration cost are closer to the cost results determined in experimental running of enumeration, than the cost results by Chen-Nguyen estimator. Conclusion: This paper revises the estimators of cost and success probability for GNR-Enumeration, and justifies the value of these revised estimators by sufficient test results (in actual running and simulation of BKZ). Also our novel definition of optimal enumeration radius can be used effectively in actual running and simulation of BKZ.

Abstract:

Historical researches concerning unit hydrograph (UH) demonstrate significant variation and presence of noise due to error in measurements and the assumption of linearity in rainfall–runoff relation. In this study, first, the UH is calculated for 16 storm events based on The least square method in a 449 hectare basin located in the vicinity of Riesel city, USA. In order to recognize noise frequencies, spectrums of the UHs are calculated for each UH by Fourier transformation. The results obtained from the spectral analysis are used for the noise reduction of the UH via a normal - weighted moving average method. From 16 smoothed UHs, one UH is selected as the representative UH of the basin by crossvalidation method. The results showed that the methods of the weighted moving average and cross– validation are suitable for obtaining a non – oscillatory and unique UH.

Abstract:

Background: Pediatric resuscitation is challenging for therapeutic group. The most physicians have limited experience in dealing with this situation. Appropriate dosing of the drugs depends on the body weight of the children that it is usually not feasible. There is need for a fast, convenient and reliable method for body weight estimation in children. The aim of this study was to assess the accuracy of Broselow tape in children of Bushehr city.Material and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in the emergency department of Aliasghar hospital. Children were between 1 month and 14 years. Children with chronic disease, 3<wt>34, ill children were excluded from study. Estimated weight measured based on Broselow tape and actual weight measured by digital scale, then estimated and actual weight were compared. The results were analyzed by SPSS Software Ver 18 and T-Test, Chi-Square Test. Results: findings showed that 43.2% of total subjects were female Mean of age were 43 months.72.5% of tape body weights were within ±10% error of actual body weights.78.9% of tape body weight was within ±15% error of actual body weights. There was no significant difference between boys and girls. Conclusion: Broslow tape was easy, fast and exact for body weight estimation in emergency situation.it is more exact of body weight estimation by parents or therapeutic group so it helps therapeutic group in emergency department for accounting of medication dosage and equipment sizes.

Abstract:

Background: The Coronavirus 2019-nCOV (COVID-19) epidemic by SARS-CoV-2 is spreading worldwide, and by March 1, 2020, 67 countries, including Iran, have been affected. Many studies are being conducted at home and abroad to predict the outbreak of the disease so that they can make the necessary medical and health decisions in a timely manner. Methods: we used the SIR model to identify parameters to calculate epidemic features and some estimates of the new coronavirus. Data on the transmission of the novel coronavirus were extracted from the GitHub source in the covid19. analytics software package. Results: According to our model estimates, the rate of infection β = 1 and the rate of removal γ = 0. 667 and index R0 = 1. 497 were obtained. Because the value of R0 is more than one, it is still an epidemic disease. Given that tfinal~132 days was estimated, we can expect the transmission of this epidemic to stop in Iran after July 3, 2020, provided that existing quarantine measures and patient isolation rates continue as usual. In comparison with the global SIR model, we reached the peak of the infection earlier than the global model, but in improved and susceptible cases, we performed better than the global model. The graph of recovered and susceptible cases in Iran earlier than the global model cut off themselves. Conclusion: Forecasts are set to be a useful guide for deciding whether to transfer COVID-19. According to the predictions and estimates made, more attention should be paid to control measures.

Abstract:

A new continuous distribution called Lindley-Lindley distribution is defined and studied. Relevant mathematical properties are derived. We present three characterizations of the new distribution based on the truncated moments of certain functions of the random variable, the hazard function and in terms of the conditional expectation of a function of the random variable. Some new bivariate type distributions using Farlie Gumbel Morgenstern copula, modified Farlie Gumbel Morgenstern copula and Clayton copula are introduced. The main justification of this paper is to show how different frequentist estimators of the new model perform for different sample sizes and different parameter values and to provide a guideline for choosing the best estimation method for the parameters of the proposed model. The unknown parameters of the new distribution are estimated using the maximum likelihood, ordinary least squares, Cramer-Von-Mises, weighted least squares and Bayesian methods. The obtained estimators are compared using Markov Chain Monte Carlo simulations and observed that Bayesian estimators are generally more efficient than the other estimators.
