The purpose of the present paper is to consider the touchstone of piety in hadiths with a religious approach to characteristics and elements of piety in a Muslim. To reach this goal, the authors have utilized Shia and Sunni hadith sources and extracted the elements that have been introduced as the touchstone of pity in narrations. Evaluating man’s behavior and conduct through theses elements will determine the level of his or her adherence or lack of adherence to the tenets of Islam.

This paper aims to show the impact of fear of God, as one of the most important signs of religious spirituality, on improving sexual and gender relationships in family and society as well as other social relationships and thus to offer some procedures for enhancing and expanding this character at familial and societal levels in order to reduce the problems involved in social relations specially male-female relations. With respect to the approach, a three-dimensional method which employs religious texts, sociological insight and social engineering standpoint could be seen in the article. And with regard to the value, it could be said that although fearing God is a familiar doctrine and its desirable societal outcomes specially the prevention of deviances are not deniable, reminding this nearly forgotten virtue and explaining its societal outcomes in detail could be taken as a considerable contribution to the literature of sociology of religion. Meanwhile the application of this discussion to the problems of sociology of family and sociology of gender could be considered as an important contribution to the literature of these two fields.

The present study aims at detecting the effects of three kinds of relations on relation between religious people and religious scholars. In this research, three kinds of pieties which have some effects on this relation determined. These three kinds are as follows: piety with no belief in scholarship, piety free of scholarship and piety but not abide by the rules (ignorant religious). After hypothetical delineation and elaboration about the effects of these variables on the relation between religious men and scholars three hypotheses is proposed.1. The less the participants believe in the role of scholars, the less they have relation with them; 2. The more the participants meet their needs by modern tools, the less they have relation with religious scholars; 3. The more the participants are uncommitted to the aspects of religion, the less they have relation with religious scholars.

Piety is a key word in the holy Quran the functions of which encompass a wide array from individual felecity to social perfection and growth. Social piety is a critical component of piety which denotes that a great number of peoples in the society observe piety to the extent that piety becomes manifest in the general behavior of the people, families, communities and politic. The current research seeks a systematic answer to the question “ which communication model of interpersonal relationship is suggested by the holy Quran from a social piety perspective”. Analysis of over two hundreds of Quranic verses on social piety in a method-based process revealed that the holy Quran, in general, intends to present a particular behavioural model of social communication. To extract this model, qualitative and quntitiative content analysis was used. The results showed that the verses on social piety are placed into three major categories including groundwork factors (19 %),  results (49%) and consequences (32%). Dividing this categories into sub-categoties resulted into a conceptual model of interpersonal baheaviour based on social piety which involve factors laying the groundwork of piety, formation of piety, results of implementin piety, and the consequences of piety-based behavior.

Abstract: The effect of the culture of modernism on contemporary human’s life has made some to agree with inapplicability of some of the ethical teachings. In an opposite place, an unreasonable view of piety has led some to prevent themselves from God’s gifts and put themselves and their household in hardness. This paper, criticizing the principles of modernism and giving a reasonable meaning on piety, has proved piety to be applicable in all fields of human life.

Despite the fact that the concept of piety is the most important educational concept in religious education and there have been researches on the concept of piety and how it is formed; But still, this widely used concept, in terms of whatness, is not precisely known among the common people and the elite. Also, in the field of how to realize piety in humans, there are questions that need to be re-examined; What is the meaning of piety? And what types and levels does it have? And how is it realized in humans? Using the descriptive-analytical method and studying religious texts, it is obtained that piety means avoiding risks; But the self-restraint of a monotheist from dangers, who believes that everything is realized under the will of God Almighty, and exclusive in self-restraint from divine wrath. The concept of piety has been used in religious texts, both as a verb and as an inner meaning. The act of piety is very valuable; But its value increases when it becomes an inner faculty. Self-awareness and correct worldview and constructive thinking make a person, first of all, protect himself from absolute dangers and finally, protect himself from God's wrath, give up his carnal desires and leave the pleasure of sin, and live the hardships of worship and repetition. These self-restraints cause the formation of the faculty of piety in humans.

The article conducted to study the piety represented in television, in the case of the Madaraneh series. The series was broadcasted on TV channel 3 of IRIB during Ramadan in 2013. It attracted the most viewers and satisfaction and represented the religiosity in a special way. This study is based on the theory of representation, according to which the media do not convey but create meaning and construct the world through representation. The research method was semiotics. The religious symbols in this series have been extracted and the findings have been studied and analyzed. The results showed that In this series, a kind of mystical (intuitive) religiosity with disciple and desired (Moridi and Moradi) themes is represented, along with a moral approach and a relationship with a moralistic cleric, as the preferred religiosity. There were a relashionship between The two types of moral and ritual (obligation-oriented) religiosity with the main focus of intuitive piety.

One of the contents in this respect and farsi Literature is abstinence and withdrawal from the world. The culture that had endowed the pioneers and followers with the attribute of broadmindedness, and the clear evidence of this matter is avoiding companionship with powerful individuals. We have disregarded the explicit explanations about the meaning and history of abstinence. What are dealt with in this article are the abstinent thoughts and also its different approaches in withdrawal from the world and putting aside the materialistic powers. We have also considered abstinence and piety with precision, through a new look, in order to show that not all the people accounted for that group are necessarily with holy behaviors, although the evidence regarding our claim at this time is merely Farsi texts and prose, which of course undoubtedly could reflect the truth of our time.

This research is to study the piety levels among the students of university of Tehran. Thus, after reviewing the available literature on the piety and its dimensions, the model of Gluck and Stark was used to measure the piety level of the student. A questionnaire was used as the gathering data tool- after evaluating its validity and reliability- and the data analyzed in SPSS package.Research findings revealed that piety levels between the students were in high level. Experimental dimension of piety is the highest one.The results of the analyses of relationship between piety levels and independent variables such as age, gender, education degree and city of resident indicated that there are significant differences between piety level and age groups, gender, city of resident and education degree; although there were no significant differences between piety levels among students in social sciences and engineering.
