Abstract:

Objectives: This study was designed to determine the prevalence of psychological symptoms in gastrointestinal outpatients. Method: In this research 200 outpatients of a private internal clinic and Sina Gastroenterology Clinic in the city of Tabriz were selected by convenience sampling, and assessed through SCL-90-R. Data were analyzed using c2 test. Results: 51.5% of the subjects had psychological symptoms among which depression and somatization were the most prevalent. Pre-valence of symptoms was four times more in females than in males. Women and unemployed subjects scored higher in most scales of the test than men, with significant difference in somatization and anxiety scales (p<0.05). No significant relationship was found between psy-chological symptoms and any gastrointestinal disease. Conclusion: Psychological symptoms are prevalent among gastro-intestinal patients, especially females.

Abstract:

Background: The term "outpatient surgery" has become a common procedure in most hospitals around the world. On other hand, Spinal aesthesia can mimic the outcome sought by the principle of outpatient surgeries since it takes a short time to recover and limits the need for post-operative pain medication Therefore, the objective of this study is to focus on finding a method to reduce the side effects that commonly accompany the procedure of spinal aesthesia and to avoid the possible hemodynamic changes that may occur. Methods: The method for the study will be a narrative review of various medical journals, conferences papers, and unpublished documents using the dual keywords, outpatient surgeries spinal aesthesia, and ambulatory aesthesia, we include in this research thirty-one original articles, fifty-three reviews articles, two books, three handbooks, and two guidelines searched in the deferent database (google scholar, Research gate, pub med, science direct). Results: Consideration should be given to the quality of patients who participate in outpatient concepts. Finally, in terms of cost, side effects, and patient satisfaction, the spinal aesthetic approach gives a favourable outcome since it covers post-operative time without the need for analgesia and reduces the percentage of postoperative nausea and vomiting, and reduces the time staying in the hospital. Conclusions: In conclusion, the study discovered that a major proportion of surgeries performed over our lifetimes are outpatient procedures. Therefore, Discharge criteria should be posed with one precise criterion. There is no standard protocol to serve these types of surgeries and patients. The only criteria found and practiced served general conditions for outpatients and inpatients. There have been several attempts to create a protocol that can meet the pleasing outcome of outpatient surgeries. Consequently, we need more research to cover this lack and serve the Genuine needs of a protocol to define the criteria and categories that concern the term outpatient and outpatient surgeries and lead to improving the quality of outpatient surgeries with fewer side effects and minimum hemodynamic changes.

Abstract:

Background: A healthy normal skin is essential for a person's physical and mental well being. Disability originated from skin diseases is important in daily life. The present study is assessed health related quality of life in dermatologic patient on autumn 2006.Materials and Methods: This study was performed on 532 outpatient dermatologic clients by Persian version of SF-36 questionnaire. Data were analyzed by SPSS-13 software. The statistical significance of the observed differences was tested with parametric (t-test, ANOVA and Pearson's correlation) and non-parametric tests (Mann-Whitney, Kruskall-Wallis and Spearman's correlation). Results: Mean age of participants was 33.8±15 and gender of them was 32.5% male and 67.5% female. The mean scores on all SF-36 subscales reported by the participants on this study were considerably lower than the Iranian national norms. Moreover, scores of married participants was lower than singles. Conclusion: Data of the present study reveal one major issue. There is no correlation between the scores in subscales of SF- 36 questionnaire & severity, width and history of hospital admission from dermatologic disease but there is significant correlation with location of lesion.

Abstract:

Introduction: Nowadays, the chronic diseases are known to be associated with lifestyle risk factors. Hemodialysis patients encounter considerable amount of physical, mental and social pressure. Lifestyle is important because it affects quality of life and has important role in prevention. This study aimed to compare the lifestyle of hemodialysis patients and outpatients in health clinics of Tabriz. Methods: This was a case-control study on 155 hemodialysis patients and 155 outpatients referring to five dialysis centers and clinics, who met the inclusion criteria. Demographic data and some questions about lifestyle in nutrition, stress, physical activity and smoking were asked. Results: The history of hypertension among hemodialysis patients was 34.6% greater than outpatients. High daily salt consumption (more than two tablespoons a day) was 40.5% higher among hemodialysis patients than outpatients. In terms of saturated oil intake, it was 30.8%higher among hemodialysis patients. Problem in communicating with family members was 69.8% higher in hemodialysis patients. In terms of physical activity, 46.4% of outpatients had higher physical activity like walking. Conclusion: Lifestyle in different dimensions was associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD); therefore, the officials of health system are recommended to develop a program to combat chronic diseases and integrate it with providing the first-level health services. It seems that public education can have a major role in life-style modification and in chronic kidney diseases prevention.
