SYNTHESIS AND EVALUATION NANO PARTICLES BASED ON MOLECULARLY IMPRINTED POLYMER FOR DETERMINATION OF GALLIC ACID FROM GREEN TEA SAMPLES

Abstract

 MOLECULARLY IMPRINTED POLYMERS (MIPS) ARE SYNTHETIC POLYMERS HAVING A PREDETERMINED SELECTIVITY FOR A GIVEN ANALYTE, OR GROUP OF STRUCTURALLY RELATED COMPOUNDS, THAT MAKE THEM IDEAL MATERIALS TO BE USED IN SEPARATION PROCESSES [1, 2]. IN THIS WORK, A MOLECULARLY IMPRINTED POLYMER (MIP) AS A NOVEL SELECTIVE SORBENT FOR EXTRACTION OF GALLIC ACID FROM GREEN TEA SAMPLES WAS PREPARED. NANO MIPS WITH A HIGH SELECTIVITY FOR GALLIC ACID, WERE SYNTHESIZED BY A NON-COVALENT APPROACH USING METHACRYLIC ACID AS THE FUNCTIONAL MONOMER AND ETHYLENE GLYCOL DIMETHACRYLATE AS THE CROSSLINKER. IN GENERAL, MIPS ARE SYNTHESIZED BY USING THE DETECTED OBJECT AS TEMPLATE. USING THE PREPARED MATERIAL AS SORBENT, A METHOD OF MOLECULARLY IMPRINTED SOLID-PHASE EXTRACTION COUPLED WITH HIGH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY FOR ANALYSIS OF GALLIC ACID IN FOODS WAS DEVELOPED. THE MIP SHOWED HIGH AFFINITY TO GALLIC ACID, AND THE OBTAINED EXTRACTS WERE SUFFICIENTLY CLEAN TO BE DIRECTLY ANALYSED. UNDER OPTIMIZED CONDITION THE ANALYSIS OF SPIKED SAMPLES SHOWED HIGH RECOVERIES (92%). FOR THE PROPOSED MISPE-HPLC-UV METHOD, THE LINEARITY BETWEEN RESPONSES AND CONCENTRATIONS OF GALLIC ACID WAS FOUND OVER THE RANGE OF 0.3–2000 MG.L-1, WITH A LINEAR REGRESSION COEFFICIENT OF 0.999.THE LIMIT OF DETECTION (LOD) AND LIMIT OF QUANTIFICATION (LOQ) BASED ON THREE AND TEN TIMES OF THE NOISE OF HPLC PROFILE WERE 0.052 AND 0.16 MG.L-1, RESPECTIVELY. THE RELATIVE STANDARD DEVIATION (RSD) FOR FIVE REPLICATE MEASUREMENTS WAS 2.35%.
