Abstract

 THE PROTECTION OF HYDROXYL AND AMINE GROUPS AS ESTERS AND AMIDES IS ONE OF THE MOST FREQUENTLY USED TRANSFORMATIONS IN ORGANIC SYNTHESIS DUE TO THE EASE OF DEPROTECTION [1].TYPICALLY, THESE REACTIONS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED USING ACETYL CHLORIDE OR ACETIC ANHYDRITE IN THE PRESENCE OF TRIETHYLAMINE OR PYRIDINE WHICH IS BETTER TO REPLACE WITH SAFE AND NATURAL CATALYSTS [2]. DEEP EUTECTIC SOLVENTS (DES) ARE GREEN VERSIONS OF IONIC LIQUIDS THAT PREPARE FROM ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY MATERIALS SUCH AS CHOLINE CHLORIDE (CHCL) [3]. DUE TO THE EFFICIENTLY OF DESS, IN THIS RESEARCH A NOVEL ROOM TEMPERATURE IONIC LIQUID WAS PREPARED FROM 1: 1 CHCL AND TSOH. THIS CATALYST PROMOTE THE ACETYLATION OF A RANGES OF ALCOHOLS AND AMINES AS WELL AS PHENOLS AND AROMATIC AMINES WITH ACETIC ANHYDRIDE IN GOOD TO EXCELLENT YIELDS AT ROOM TEMPRATURE AND SOLVENT-FREE CONDITIONS. HIGH YIELDS, SOLVENT FREE, MILD REACTION CONDITIONS, AND SHORT REACTION TIME ARE ADVANTAGES OF THIS METHOD.
