Abstract

An experiment was conducted to determine the effect of dried TOMATO PULP on commercial layer PERFORMANCE. One hundred ninety two Hy- Line strain LAYING HENs, 65 to 73 weeks of age, were randomly assigned to 4 dietary treatments. In the 8 week experiment, hens were allocated to four dietary treatments bing: 0, 5, 7.5 and 10 percent of dried TOMATO PULP. The hens received a diet ad libitum. Inclusion of TOMATO PULP at levels up to 10 percent in diets of LAYING HENs increased egg production, egg weight, egg mass and eggshell weight significantly. Thus, TOMATO PULP can be added to ration of LAYING HENs at 10 percent without any adverse effects.
