Abstract

Sexual desire has a special role in the spiritual growth or animal decline of human. The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the role of sexual desire in the ultimate perfection of human from the view of the Holy Quran. Therefore, all related written sources were review in an analytical-documentary manner and by following the criteria of thematic interpretation. The results showed that the creation of sexual desire is purposeful and it can be given the color of worship and it can be used to achieve worldly and hereafter perfections. According to the Quranic verses, faith is a necessary condition for selecting a sexual partner, and avoiding sexual corruption plays a significant role in spiritual ascension. In addition, the perfect movement of the people of paradise is realized in the light of sexual intercourse; The verses indicating the sexual intercourse of perfect human also show the role of this desire in the perfection of human.
