Abstract

Firework on the last Tuesday night of the year, known as CharshanbehSoori, is one of the traditional feasts of Iranians. In the past, people held the ceremony through expressing their happiness without having any problems.Unfortunately, during the last few years the ceremony has deviated and has become one of the most turbulent nights that violate order and security. The issue has been dealt with in the framework of psychological and sociological theories. The present research mainly aims at offering a managerial model for controlling the unrests of the ceremony in KERMANSHAH city. The present research is of applied type and the method used is interventional. The statisti-cal community includes four of the problem maker neighborhoods in the city-22nd of Bahman, Kasra, Maskan and Karmandan- during the ceremony. Sixhundred persons were randomly selected through simple sampling method in KERMANSHAH city in 2007. Self-made questionnaire, researcher's observations and a checklist were the tools for gathering information, and Lickert range was used to develop them. The questionnaire's validity was determined via using nominal and contextual validity, and its reliability was determined via Cronbach’s Alpha (a=0.78) and the data was analyzed through using SPSS and descriptive and analytical statistics. The results of the research indicate that the major hypothesis of the research (proper management of police forces is effective in controlling the unrests of the ceremony) was approved.
