Abstract:

IntroductionThe practice of medicine today is divided into 2 major groups; what is regarded on the one hand as ‘ scientific’ or ‘ evidence-based’ medicine and on the other hand a disparate group known as ‘ alternative medical practices. ’ Modern or ‘ scientific’ medicine, the origins of which date from early 19th century C. E., has many shortcomings and is not perfect, but seems to be the most effective form of medical practice we have today. I will discuss this in a future article.

Abstract:

There are many problems in the treatment of hypertension, so we use alternative medicine to achieve better results to solve these problems. In this article we describe a hypertensive patient resisted to conventional drugs and she had some other somatic and psychotic symptoms and was treated by HOMEOPATHY, a method of alternative medicine.

Abstract:

Although HOMEOPATHY have been discovered 230 years ago by Dr Samuel Hahnemann but only scientific view has begun only since 25 years. Currently HOMEOPATHY has been integrated into the national health care systems of many countries, including India, Mexico, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the United Kingdom. In the World Health Organization report about alternative medicine that published in 2001, we noticed that HOMEOPATHY is regulated in 43 countries (Asia 7, Africa 7, America 9, Australia 2 and Europe 20). Contrary to some critics who think that people try HOMEOPATHY only because they are uneducated, research published in the Western Journal of Medicine showed that homeopathic patients tend to be considered even better educated than the average American. The New York Times noted that visits to homeopathic physicians are increasing in England at a rate of 39% per year. In two different studies published by The British Medical Journal and the Times of London revealed that 42% and 48% of the physicians surveyed refer patients to homeopathic physicians. A recent survey of French doctors revealed that approximately 11000 utilize homeopathic medicines, approximately 25% of the French public have tried or are presently using homeopathic medicines, and over 20000 French pharmacies now sell homeopathic medicines. This survey also noted that courses in HOMEOPATHY leading to a degree are offered in six medical schools. HOMEOPATHY is widespread in Europe, but it is even more popular in Asia, especially India (Presently, there are over 120 four- or five-year homeopathic medical schools in India.), Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Emirate, Malaysia, Iran (we have 130 member of Iranian Homeopathic Association member who all of them are physician). As an article in the World Health Organizations journal World Health Forum noted, "Homeopathic treatment seems well suited for use in rural areas where the infrastructure, equipment, and drugs needed for conventional medicine cannot be provided. HOMEOPATHY is re-experiencing a renaissance in the United States as well. In the mid-1980s, it can be estimated that there are approximately 1,000 physicians who specialize in HOMEOPATHY. According to the Washington Post, the numbers of physicians in the U.S. who specialize in HOMEOPATHY doubled from 1980 to 1982. Approximately 1,000 other health professionals in the U.S. use homeopathic medicines,

Abstract:

Introduction: Pemphigus vulgaris is a chronic vesicular and autoimmune disease that involves the skin and mucosal membranes. The prevalence is low and drugs used for treating pemphigus have a lot of side effects. It has been suggested that HOMEOPATHY may be helpful in treating pemphigus conditions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the role of HOMEOPATHY in treatment of pemphigus vulgaris patients. Report of Cases: A total of 12 new patients were identified over 1.5 year period. Those who did not used any drug for treatment of their pemphigus. Seven patients volunteered to be treated by HOMEOPATHY. HOMEOPATHY treatment was applied for four weeks during the waiting period until biopsy confirmation report was received. No drug was used over this period in order to evaluate the efficacy of HOMEOPATHY alone. By the end of HOMEOPATHY treatment, patients were evaluated regarding the number of lesions, amount of pain and their wellness. According to the findings, two patients had prominent remission and six of them reported feeling better and had less pain. It seems that HOMEOPATHY does not have the expected efficacy of conventional therapy in controlling pemphigus conditions, but it may be used together with conventional treatment in order to reduce pain, dosage of corticosteroid medication used and also facilitates patients' recovery. In conclusion, further studies are required in order to determine the value of HOMEOPATHY more accurately when treating pemphigus conditions.

Abstract:

Objectives: HOMEOPATHY is the most important field of alternative medicine. At present, over 3000 organic medications have been registered in the HOMEOPATHY pharmacopeia; out of which, 70% have herbal, 20% have mineral and the remaining have animal origins. Evidence shows that HOMEOPATHY may be beneficial in dentistry and oral medicine. However, this is a less known field for dentists. Therefore, this study aimed to do a review on the most common HOMEOPATHY medicines used for oral and dental problfems and to present it in a simple and practical way for general dental practitioners.Review of Literature: Google Scholar and PubMed data bases were searched for any article related to both HOMEOPATHY and dentistry. Several recent meta-analyses, randomized control trials, animal and laboratory trials, and other interventional papers were studied.HOMEOPATHY drugs are basically produced from natural origin; they have less side effects in comparison with chemical drugs. In this method, only small doses of medications with low cost are used. The positive effects of HOMEOPATHY drugs on several oral conditions have been emphasized. Conclusion: HOMEOPATHY may be a suitable adjunct to conventional medicine for management of many conditions since it is affordable, effective and uplifting for patients.

Abstract:

Objective: The debate about the effectiveness of HOMEOPATHY hits the headlines from time to time. Reported evidences for the role of HOMEOPATHY in psychiatric illness relevant to people with intellectual disabilities are patchy and inconsistent. In this review we summarize the best available evidence for the use of HOMEOPATHY to treat the psychiatric disorders common in this population. Methods: Systematic literature review was conducted through February 2012 to July 2012 in AMED, CINHAL, BNI, EMBASE, MEDLINE, PSYCHINFO and GOOGLE SCHOLAR. In the next steps thirty eight homeopathic associations were contacted and a top-up literature search was done on Scopus and World of Science databases till March 2014. Twelve relevant clinical trials were identified and included in this study. The quality of each trial was assessed by the Oxford quality scoring system (Known as Jadad score) as well as subjective review by two reviewers independently (good versus poor).Findings: The largest body of evidence pertained to the use of HOMEOPATHY in the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). There is heterogeneity in the quality of trials and also the outcome of studies but overall our findings suggest some potential for using HOMEOPATHY in ADHD. Current evidences do not support the use of HOMEOPATHY for treatment of speech and language difficulties. There was only one trial concerning the use of HOMEOPATHY in Autistic Spectrum Disorder. This was of a poor quality and unable to provide any recommendation. Conclusion: Whilst acknowledging the risk of publication and language bias in our study, the currently available evidences are neither conclusive nor comprehensive enough to give us a clear picture for the use of HOMEOPATHY in patients with intellectual disabilities. There are large gaps in the body of evidence concerning the role of HOMEOPATHY in the treatment of common disorders in intellectual disability, such as autism, challenging behavior or developmental arrest in childhood.
