After the defeat of the policy of treatment of the delinquents, a new viewpoint was formed which covered all criminal policies. Such policy tries to lesson and control the risk of delinquency. Situational crime prevention in such an approach acts as the major criminological tool. This type of prevention has been developed along with the development of technology, especially information and communication technology. The present study aims at exploring the role of information and communication technology in crime risk management.The findings demonstrate that information and communication technology helps situational crime prevention and crime risk through indentifying risky situations, hardening crime targets, enhancing supervision and visibility and increasing the cost of commiting crime.
