I was born in Zagreb (Croatia) on October 26, 1936. My parents were Regina (nee Pavic) (April17, 1916, Zagreb-March 9, 1992, Zagreb) and Cvjetko Trinajstic (September 9, 1913, Volosko-October 29, 1998, Richmond, Australia). My maternal grandparents came to Zagreb in the last decade of the 19th century from northern Dalmatia whilst my paternal grandparents lived all their lives in Volosko, a small town located between Rijeka and Opatija.

With the current issue of the Polyolefins Journal in your hands the journal is entering to the third year of its biannual publication. There were many who doubted and also some who were optimistic at the time about the future of POJ in an environment where many, well established and outstanding journals in this field have existed and have been published for a very long time. However, our intention from the beginning was not to compete with other similar-minded publications but to attempt, by defining for POJ a different and particular mission, to make the journal attractive to a special group of scientific population. From the beginning, we were particularly keen to encourage the reception of submissions from early career researchers, Ph.D. students, and post-Docs, etc., but of course without forgetting to welcome the publication endeavors of senior and junior scholars from all countries of the world.

Time flies, and the year 2016 is almost half way through and it is with great pleasure that we are presenting to you the second issue of the 3rd volume of Polyolefins Journal. The new issue is successfully prepared and contains several interesting scientific, scholarly reviewed articles with a wide range of topics concerning polyolefin field. The first paper is authored by Fatemeh Khadem Molavi et al. entitled "Effect of multi-walled carbon nanotube on mechanical and rheological properties of silane modified EPDM rubber". This manuscript investigated the dispersion state and characteristics of nanocomposites based on MWCNT and functionalized EPDM.

Since November 2012, when Polyolefins Journal (POJ) first accepted submissions, and subsequently on January 2013, when it published its first issue, the Journal has grown and the number of submitted articles has increased steadily during the two years period from 2013-2015. The positive response to the Journal’s launch, and relative increase in issue - by - issue submission/ publication, speak for the cautious acceptance of the Journal in the established field of polyolefins.Nonetheless, we are still quite a distance away from the ideal situation where, the number of acceptable submissions would secure, after the stringent peer-reviewing selection process, a sufficient number of accepted research and review articles needed for each issue’s publication.To review and discuss all topics related to current and foreseeable shortcomings of the Polyolefins Journal, during a two- hour meeting, a restricted editorial board was held on Sunday 22/04/2015 at the IPPI site in Tehran.
