چکیده: 

A CONVENTIONAL DIRECT METHANOL fuel cell (DMFC) CONSISTS OF A POLYMER ELECTROLYTE MEMBRANE (PEM) PRESSED BETWEEN AN ANODE AND A CATHODE ELECTRODE. THIS ARCHITECTURE IS LIMITED BY PARAMETERS SUCH AS: OVERALL SIZE AND COST, fuel CROSSOVER, MEMBRANE DEGRADATION AND STRUCTURES COMPLEXITY. HERE, WE REPORT A MEMBRANELESS MIXED REACTANT DMFC IN WHICH, USING A SELECTIVE CATHODE ELECTROCATALYST. THERE IS NO MEMBRANE FOR SEPARATION ANODE AND CATHODE COMPARTMENTS.THE MAXIMUM POWER DENSITIES OBTAINED FROM POLARIZATION CURVES WERE 4 AND 2.8 MW/CM-2 FOR OPERATIONAL TEMPERATURES 35 AND 200C, RESPECTIVELY.

PARTICIPATION OF STUDENTS IN THE LAB DESIGN ENHANCES THEIR LEARNING THROUGH DISCOVERY-BASED LEARNING METHOD. CONSIDERING THE BENEFITS OF DISCOVERY-BASED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES ON STUDENT’S OUTCOMES, INCORPORATION OF SUCH ACTIVITIES IN LABORATORY PROGRAMS WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL. AN INQUIRY-BASED EXPERIMENT IS DESCRIBED IN WHICH AN INEXPENSIVE fuel cell IS CONSTRUCTED USING SALINE SOLUTION AS ELECTROLYTE AND PLATINUM WIRES AS THE ELECTRODES. THIS LABORATORY WORK IS DESIGNED TO EXPOSE STUDENTS TO fuel cell TECHNOLOGY, INCREASE THEIR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT ELECTROCHEMICAL cellS AND AUGMENT THEIR INTEREST AND CONFIDENCE IN PURSUING THIS FIELD AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO PARTICIPATE THROUGHOUT THE LABORATORY TO ENSURE THAT THEIR LEARNING EXPERIENCE IS MAXIMIZED. THIS PLAN ALLOWS STUDENTS TO GAIN EXPERIENCES ON HOW ELECTRODE AND ELECTROLYTE MATERIAL SELECTION AFFECTS THE fuel cell PERFORMANCE. THE PROJECT ALLOWS STUDENTS TO GAIN BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF ELECTROCHEMISTRY, FAMILIARITY WITH THE fuel cell TECHNOLOGY, AND VALUABLE HANDSON EXPERIENCES WITH ELECTROCHEMICAL cellS AND CIRCUITS.

THIS ARTICLE PROVIDES AN OVERVIEW OF INNOVATION PROCESSES HAVE BEEN TAKEN IN THE FIELD OF fuel cell TECHNOLOGY (FCT) IN IRAN. fuel cell TECHNOLOGY IS A GENERIC TECHNOLOGY WITH WIDE VARIETY AREAS OF APPLICATION IN AUTOMOBILE AND ENERGY PRODUCTION BOTH FOR INDUSTRIAL AND RESIDENTIAL PURPOSES AND ALSO IT IS EXPECTED TO HAVE A LARGE SOCIETAL IMPACT ON THE FUTURE SOCIETY. IN THIS ARTICLE CONCERNING DECISION CRITERIA SUCH AS THE ROLE OF COOPERATING ACTORS AT NATIONAL LEVEL AND THEIR INTERACTIONS, AN INNOVATION SURVEY HAS BEEN DRAWN ON THE BASIS OF NATIONAL INNOVATION SYSTEM (NIS) APPROACH. IN THIS REGARD, IN ADDITION TO MONITORING THE ACTIVITIES IN DEVELOPMENT OF FCT, WE HAVE EXPLORED RELATED TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS IN THIS FIELD. THESE INNOVATION SURVEYS TRY TO DEAL WITH TWO CHALLENGES. FIRSTLY, WHAT CHARACTERIZED FC TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION IN IRAN? AND SECONDLY, HOW CAN NUMEROUS ACTORS BE MAINTAINED AND DUPLICATION AVOIDED IN AN NIS? FINALLY OUR CONCLUDING REMARKS OF THE INNOVATION SURVEYS ARE ANALYZING AND MAPPING THE ROLE OF GOVERNMENT, INDUSTRY, ACADEMIA AND THEIR INTERACTIONS BESIDE SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR MODIFYING IRANIAN FC SYSTEM OF INNOVATION.

LARGE NUMBERS OF EXPERIMENTS ARE OFTEN NEEDED TO FIND THE EFFECTS OF THE PARAMETERS ON PERFORMANCE OF PEMFC, BUT IT IS WELL KNOWN THAT PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE WERE THE EFFECTIVE PARAMETERS IN PERFORMANCE OF fuel cell. IN THIS STUDY, THE GENETIC ALGORITHM WAS APPLIED TO DETERMINE WORKING CONDITIONS THAT OBTAINING MAXIMUM POWER DENSITY OF A PEMFC. A QUASI TWO DIMENSIONAL, ISOTHERMAL MODEL WAS USED FOR THE PROTON EXCHANGE MEMBRANE (PEM) fuel cell AS FITNESS FUNCTION OF GENETIC ALGORITHM AND EXPERIMENTAL SETUP WAS DEVELOPED TO VALIDATION OF THAT MODELING. AT LAST THE BEST VALUES OF PARAMETERS WERE DETERMINED.

در این مقاله، راهکار کنترل به منظور بهینه سازی پخش توان در خودروی هایبرید پیل سوختی ارائه شده است. در ساختار خودروی هایبرید پیل سوختی در نظر گرفته شده، پیل سوختی، باتری، موتور الکتریکی و نیرو محرکه خودرو در نظر گرفته شده است. روش مدیریت توان لحظه ای بر پایه کنترل کننده فازی عصبی بین دو منبع تولید توان پیل سوختی و باطری است. استراتژی کنترل پیشنهاد شده بر پایه روش هوشمند تمامی مدهای عملکردی ممکن در خودروی پیل سوختی را در نظر گرفته، می تواند جهت گیری راننده را تخمین زند. نتایج شبیه سازی روی یک سیکل رانشی نشان می دهد که شاخص های عملکردی خودروی هایبرید پیل سوختی، نظیر حالت های شارژی باتری و ضریب بهره برداری سوخت در پیل سوختی در محدوده مناسبی قرار گرفته است.

To develop operating strategies in polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cell-powered applications, precise computationally efficient models of the fuel cell stack voltage are required. Models are needed for all operating conditions, including transients. In this work, transient evolutions of voltage, in response to load changes, are modeled with a sum of three exponential decay functions.Amplitude factors are correlated to steady-state operating data (temperature, humidity, average current, resistance, and voltage). The obtained time constants reflect known processes of the membrane heat/water transport. These model parameters can form the basis for the prediction of voltage overshoot/undershoot used in computational-based control systems, used in real-time simulation. Furthermore, the results provide an empirical basis for the estimation of the magnitude of temporary voltage loss to be expected with sudden load changes, as well as a systematic method for the analysis of experimental data. Its applicability is currently limited to thin membranes with low to moderate humidity gases, and with adequately high reactant-gas stoichiometry.

Recent ly developed man-made st ructures have caused environmental pollut ions, and unfortunately, in spite of the deteriorat ing affairs and repeated warnings by scient ists and experts, the degree of contamination is increasing considerably. One of the natural sources undergoing changes is the coasts. It is mainly due to human act ivit ies which have led to a change in the quality and quant ity of sediments. These regions can be contaminated by a variety of hazardous pollutants such as heavy metals and hydrocarbons. In this work, a combination of electrokinetic and MFC process was used for Cr removal from contaminated sediments. According to the obtained results, a maximum power density and current of 1. 06 W/m3 and 52. 05 A/m3 were achieved during the process. Given the presence of chromium in the catholyte, it can be concluded that the chromium migration from sediment sample to the cathode chamber has been taken. In addit ion, the maximum Cr measured in catholyte was 0. 056 mg/l. Overall, the results confirmed the high efficiency of the proposed cell for contaminant removal from sediments.

ALL THE PEOPLE OVER THE WORLD RELY HEAVILY ON COAL, OIL, AND NATURAL GAS FOR THEIR ENERGY. FOSSIL fuelS ARE NON-RENEWABLE, WHICH MEANS, THEY DRAW ON FINITE RESOURCES THAT WILL EVENTUALLY DWINDLE, BECOMING TOO EXPENSIVE OR TOO ENVIRONMENTALLY DAMAGING TO RETRIEVE. IN CONTRAST, THE MANY TYPES OF RENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCES ARE CONSTANTLY REPLENISHED AND WILL NEVER RUN OUT. AND ALSO THEY DON’T CAUSE DISEASES SUCH AS AIR POLLUTION AND WATER CONTAMINATION. fuel cell IS ONE OF THESE RENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCES WHICH HAVE THE BROAD RANGE OF APPLICATION IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF OUR LIFE. IN THIS STUDY, fuel cellS USE IN STATIONARY POWER GENERATION SYSTEMS FOR SUPPLYING INDUSTRIAL AND RESIDENTIAL CONSUMERS IS EVALUATED ECONOMICALLY WITH HOMER. ALSO, AN ECONOMIC COMPARISON BETWEEN fuel cell VEHICLES (CARS AND BUSES) AND CONVENTIONAL TYPES OF TRANSPORTATION IS CARRIED OUT.

The operation of fuel cell Distributed Generation (FCDG) systems in distribution systems is introduced by modeling, controller design, and simulation study of a Solid Oxide fuel cell (SaFe) distributed generation (DG) system. The physical model of the fuel cell stack and dynamic models of power conditioning units are described. Then, suitable control architecture based on fuzzy logic control for the overall system is presented in order to active power control and power quality improvement. A MATLAB/Simulink simulation model is developed for the SOFC DG system by combining the individual component models and the controllers designed for the power conditioning units.Simulation results are given to show the overall system performance including active power control and voltage regulation capability of the distribution system.
