THIS PAPER EXAMINES THE energy USE PATTERNS AND RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN energy INPUT AND YIELD FOR BROILER PRODUCTION IN FOUMAN CITY OF GUILAN PROVINCE. DATA FROM 30 FARMERS WERE COLLECTED USING A FACE-TO FACE QUESTIONNAIRE METHOD. IN THE SURVEYED BROILER FARMS, AVERAGE YIELD, MANURE AND energy CONSUMPTION WERE CALCULATED ABOUT 2752 KG 1000 BIRD-1, 2395 KG 1000 BIRD-1 AND 262785 MJ 1000 BIRD-1, RESPECTIVELY. AMONG INPUT energy SOURCES, DIESEL FUEL, FEED AND ELECTRICITY CONTAINED HIGHEST energy SHARES WITH 53.86%, 23.44%, AND 22.39%, RESPECTIVELY. THE energy RATIO AND energy PRODUCTIVITY WERE FOUND TO BE 0.11 AND 0.01 KG MJ-1. MOREOVER, THE SHARE OF RENEWABLE AND NONRENEWABLE energy WAS 23.66% AND 76.34%, RESPECTIVELY. THE ECONOMETRIC MODEL WAS DEVELOPED TO ESTIMATE THE IMPACT OF energy inputs ON BROILER YIELD. THE RESULTS REVEALED THAT IMPACT OF CHICK, HUMAN LABOR AND ELECTRICITY ENERGIES ON BROILER YIELD WERE SIGNIFICANT AT 1% PROBABILITY LEVEL AND IMPACT OF FEED energy WERE SIGNIFICANT AT 5% PROBABILITY LEVEL. SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS INDICATED THAT AMONG THE inputs, CHICK, HUMAN LABOR AND FEED HAVE THE HIGHEST MPP VALUE OF energy inputs.
