Abstract:

The concept of space identity received an increasingly significant place in the analysis of social behavior and preparedness and is considered to have a decoding role in understanding many important geographic phenomena. Researchers have frequently attempted to find out which factor or factors responsible for the generation of human civilization in varied forms and patterns. Can rivers be responsible? If so, why can we find urban and village residence only in certain places along the rivers which are sometimes around hundreds of kilometers long? Moreover, in places where there have been good soil and water, nomadic civilization rather than an inhabited one has been formed. Recent studies have found that space identity provides the answers to all these questions and the studies done by researchers in Iran suggest that the main fundamental of civilization in Iran is subject to specific regulations and rules and follows the space identity of its domain. In this article, which is the result of a research project at Islamic Azad University Maybod Branch in Iran, based on discourse analysis, an attempt has been made to understand space identity of inhabitation in Zagros area and the results show that although Zagros is considered a nomadic civilization area, other space identity factors have also played a limited or small role in changing the main texture of space organizations among which the following can be mentioned: a) quaternary lake shore in the domain of nomadic social civilization system has been a strong attraction in changing the nomadic civilization to an inhabited civilization, and b) hazardous landslide phenomenon in Zagros has had an effect in creating more place preparedness, which has subsequently led to the formation of small villages and settlements in the domain of nomadic civilization.

Abstract:

THE Zagros MOUNTAINS OF IRAN FORMED BY CONTINENTAL COLLISION FROM CLOSURE OF THE NEO-TETHYAN OCEAN. NEW MAPPING, RADIOMETRIC AGES AND STRATIGRAPHIC ANALYSES HAVE ENABLED ADVANCES IN OUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE JURASSIC TO CENOZOIC TECTONIC HISTORY. THE NORTHWESTERN Zagros OROGEN CONSISTS OF THREE BELTS: (1) THE Zagros FOLD AND THRUST BELT, DIVIDED INTO THE OUTER Zagros SIMPLY FOLDED BELT AND THE INNER HIGH Zagros BELT, (2) THE Zagros SUTURE ZONE INCLUDING RADIOLARITE, OPHIOLITE AND BISOTUN LIMESTONE THRUST SHEETS, AND (3) THE SANANDAJ–SIRJAN ZONE, WHICH CONTAINS ABUNDANT METAMORPHIC ROCKS. ...

Abstract:

The area under investigation is Consist of the Zagros Mountain belt and its southern coastal margin. The dominant focal mechanisms in this zone are reverse and thrusting too. In this research, investigation area has divided to 14 provinces by difference in geological characteristics and then, their seismicity parameters have estimated. Therefore, the provinces that have highest seismic activity rate and seismic potential are introduced. In addition, the six main siesmogenic trend with N-S trending are distinguished that one of them (Qatar-Kazerun fault system) has accompanied by surface ruptures.

Abstract:

Climate change, especially global warming affect s every aspects of the environment, social structure, and food security. The Zagros region due to its rugged nature and diverse climate is very vulnerable to climate change such as temperature warming and rainfall decrease. In order to unclose the signs of climate change in the Zagros region, the existing monthly rainfall, rain days, mean, low and high temperatures of 26 stations in the region were studied. These stations had data with different durations ranging from 17 to 55 years. The normality of the time series were tested via lobly force, and their trend with Ljung-Box and Mankendal Tau. The degree and sign of the trend were tested by correlation coefficient. The results did not show any significant trend in the rainfall series. But the mean low temperature and daily temperature range showed significant trend. More than 90 percent of the stations showed significant increasing trend in the minimum temperature. While the daily range showed both increasing and decreasing trends.

Abstract:

The present study covers the area between 500E to 510, 30¢E of the Zagros Fold-and-Thrust Belt. The deformation pattern of west High Zagros Belt (HZB) has been considered to reflect a complete strain partitioning due to the Arabian oblique plate convergence and Central Iran. In this context the NW-SE trending Main Recent Fault (MRF) acts as rear boundary of the belt, kinematically taking up the strike-parallel component of oblique plate motion of Arabia, whereas the High Zagros Fault (HZF) with the same fault trend as MRF accommodates the orogen-normal shortening due to this movement. Using fault-slip inversion on fault planes mostly affecting the Bakhtiary conglomerate (Plio-Pleistocene in age) along the HZB, the deviatoric stress tensor and its shape factor (R) calculated at 29 stations. The geomorphic evidences and the fault kinematics show that the major parts of the HZF are consistent with strike-slip kinematics. This implies that the HZF also accommodates some part of strike-parallel component of oblique convergence collision.

Abstract:

Regional planning in Iran have a long period background. In spite of this background of 50 years old, these plans have less and less reached to implementation stage. The aim of this study is analysis of comprehensive development plan of Central Zagros Region. The main reason for selection of this subject for evaluation, firstly was the importance of regional planning, especially in a expand country like Iran, and the second, was necessity of continoues analysis and review on the plans in both cases of aims and methods. This research in its evaluation process, initially tried to answer to the three following questions:1-The rate of compatibility between the plan and scientific bases2-Harmony and answering between the aims and the tar targets of initial contract of the plan3-The rate of applicability and implementation of recommended plan.Methodology of research in this thesis is the descriptive and analytical method, and is divided on two sections: One is formal evaluation and the other is containing evaluation Formal evaluation is to compare of such cases of the survey that is out of purport, and only concentrate on formal part of the work The aim of containing evaluation, is indeed to analysis and evaluate such part of survey that has the considerable meaning, and is comparable with the scientific terms and literature review of regional planning Output of the research -in short- is that In typical regional plans -in general- and the case of the recommended plan of Central Zagros -in special- the formal methods of planning are done in a fair level. But the matter on which is in a neglect, is not to pay enough attention to initial stage and also last stage of planning process, that means: how to be philosophical and ideological terms of planning at the first and how to execute or to program the plan at the end of planning process. In other words, the regional plans are suffered from two things more than the others; "Poverty in Theory and Poverty in Execution.

Abstract:

The Faraghun Mountains are located in the southeastern part of the Zagros orogen. Early Ordovician-Permian rock units are deepest stratigraphic units exposed in the central part of the Faraghun Mountains. High Zagros Fault (HZF) is the main structural feature bordering the southern flank of these mountains. Here we combine detailed mapping, field-based structural kinematic analysis and cross-sections to reconstruct the structural evolution of the Faraghun Mountains. Our new structural and stratigraphic analysis document three kinematically and geometrically different western, central and eastern segments for the HZF in the Faraghun Mountains. Both the eastern and western segments of the HZF dip to the north and are connected by the central segment that which is dippingto the south. Late Paleozoic successions have been exposed in the hangingwall of the Central High Zagros Fault segment in a pop-up geometry, and the Faraghun and Narangan faults have been formed in its footwall. Structural data indicates a right-lateral strike-slip mechanism with reverse component for the western and eastern segments, and reverse with right-lateral strike-slip component for the central segmenst of the HZF. Stratigraphic records document prominent variation in the late Cretaceous sequences including Gurpi Formation in the hangingwall and footwall of the HZF in the Faraghun Mountains. Greater thickness and basal conglomeratic nature of Gurpi Formation in the hangingwall of the HZF with respect to its footwall might reflect normal kinematics of the HZF and a high-energy depositional environment in its hangingwall during the deposition of the Gurpi Formation. All the stratigraphic and structural evidence represent post late Cretaceous compression accompanied by late Cenozoic right-lateral transpression in the Faraghun Mountains of SE Zagros.

Abstract:

one of the most attractive and complex geomorphologic phenomenons ar(tang) this attraction and complexity need to make some hypothesis about the progress of them the hypothesis which have achived a classic aspect because of a lot of use in this research takab transverse valley in anticline located in northern east of behbahan has been use of with the some of topographical and geomogical maps aerial photos and various stage of observation and tried to clean the ocean of construction of this tang in which the recent formation of certase ocean and eligomiocean accompanied with quantry allulim. Based on the hypothesis of common hypothesis about the progress of constructing the tang in takab transverse valley is becom the involve and cosversation which are considened to the cause of changes. The changes of these wide surfaces of mount Zagros. in the end there is no need of conclusion and resulting in any mechanisem incidents on constructing. In another word it is possible to say that in costructing of takab transverse valley not only a certain progress but multiple progresses are taking part.

Abstract:

BACKGROUND: Zagros Pupfish (Aphanius vladykovi) is a native fish of Iran which is found in basins of Chahar Mahal & Bakhtiari province. OBJECTIVES: In this study, the chromosome number and karyotype of Zagros Pupfish were investigated. METHODS: To obtain metaphase chromosome spreadsin vivo, 1.2-5.4 g fish were injected intraperitoneally by 0.1-0.15 mg/g of 1% colchicine and were humanely killed after being incubated in a well-aerated tank for 4-5 hours at 22-23oC. Hematopoietic, testis or ovary, gill, spleen and liver tissues were isolated from the fish and were fixed with cold Carnoy's solution after being hypotonized in 0.075 M KCl. Chromosome spreads were prepared by either splashing of cell suspension or stamping of whole tissues onto slides. Slides were then stained by 10% Giemsa followed by microscopic observation. Suitable metaphase plates were digitally microphotographed and chromosomes were counted and karyotyped. RESULTS: Diploid chromosome number ranged from 42 to 49 with the modal number (2n) of 48. Based on the prepared karyotype, chromosome formula for this species was 12st+36 a/t and the number of chromosome arms (FN) was calculated 60. No heteromorphic sex chromosomes could be recognized in this species. CONCLUSIONS: The diploid chromosome number of Zagros Pupfish is similar to other species of the same genus so far investigated.
