Lifestyle Questionnaire and All Aspects of Health Literacy Scale were used to collect the necessary data. Pearson Correlation and t-test statistics were run using SPSS 24 for the analysis of the data. Findings There was a positive and significant correlation between Veterans’,health literacy and the lifestyle of Veterans and non-Veterans families (Veterans: r=0. 330, p<0. 001,nonVeterans: r=0. 321, p<0. 001). There was no significant difference between the lifestyle mean scores for men and women in the two groups of Veterans and non-Veterans (p>0. 05). Conclusion There is a correlation between health literacy and the lifestyle in Veterans-and non-Veterans families, while there is no difference between the lifestyles in the two groups.

Abstract:

Aims This study aimed to identify the differences between interpersonal forgiveness and self-differentiation in Veterans’-and non-Veterans’ spouses. Instrument & Methods The present study is non-experimental and conducted by the causalcomparative method in all the spouses of 25% of the Veterans referred to the Damavand Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation, the spouses of non-Veterans living in Damavand in 2020. A total of 80 people (40 Veterans’ spouses and 40 non-Veterans’ spouses) were randomly selected. The research instruments included the self-differentiation scale and interpersonal forgiveness scale. Multivariate analysis of variance in SPSS 20 software was used to analyze the data. Findings There was a significant difference between the two groups of Veterans ‘ and nonVeterans’ spouses in the component of my status from their differentiation variable (p<0. 05), but no significant difference was observed for the components of emotional responsiveness, emotional fault, and integration with others (p>0. 05). Also, there was no significant difference in reconnection and revenge control components, control of suffering, and realistic understanding of the interpersonal forgiveness variable (p>0. 05). Abstract:

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disorder in which the symptoms of re-experiencing, avoidance and hyper-arousal have negative impact on physical and mental health of patients. The aim of the present study was to compare the quality of life of Veterans suffering from war-related chronic PTSD and those not affected by PTSD.Therefore, in a causal-comparative study, 120 soldiers in four groups of PTSD, chemical, amputation and normal soldiers were selected through convenience sampling and the demographic characteristics and Quality of Life questionnaires were administered on them.Analysis of the variance and Tukey test showed that patients with PTSD scored lower in the components of vitality, social and physical functioning, and mental health as compared to the other groups. It seems that PTSD causes significant disabilities in job performance, family, sociability and daily functioning and negatively affects the quality of life of the patients.

Abstract:

This qualitative study describes and analyzes the social challenges and life problems of Veterans below 25% and explains the causes of their dissatisfaction. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews and in-depth interviews with 30 Veterans under 25% in Khorasan Razavi province. The results indicate that the major problems of the Veterans begin with the method of scoring by the Martyr Foundation. This procedure of scoring creates adverse consequences like a sense of Foundation's lack of trust in Veterans, the inadequate functioning of the Veterans' Commission, and the incorrect determining the percentage of injury, a feeling of discrimination on the basis of Foundation's unfair treatment, the suffering resulted from people Pretending to be a veteran, and a decline in the status of Veterans in society. These problems have led to a sense of deprivation of respect, benefits and organizational identity which has ultimately led to dissatisfaction with the Martyr Foundation and other organizations. Veterans are demanding a revision in determining the percentage of injury, being respected and honored as a veteran in the society and finally, forming a working group of Veterans in the Foundation.

Abstract:

Aims Neuro-psychiatric side effects caused by war lead to different problems affecting the Veterans and their family members. Of main psychological aspects of the Veterans, which are not often considered, are the quality of life, psychological health, and their conflict with job and family affairs. The aim of this study was to compare the quality of life and the work family conflict between Veterans and normal persons working at the southern oil sites.Instrument & Methods In the causal-comparative study, 437 wokers of the southern oil sites, including 215 Veterans and 222 normal persons, were studied in 2015. The Veterans were selected via Relative Stratified Random Samling Method. The normal workers were selected considering their compliance with the Veterans in job, age, and functions. Data were collected, using Quality of Life Questionnaire and Work-Family Conflict Questionnaire. Data was analyzed using one-variable ANOVA (in the MANOVA context) and Pearson Correlatio Coefficient.Findings There was no significant difference in the mean scores of quality of life and work-family conflict between the Veterans and the normal peoples (p>0.05). There was a powerful negative correlation between the quality of life and work-family conflict in Veterans (r=-0.42) and normal peoples (r=-0.31), as well as in all the studied persons (r=-0.35; p<0.001).Conclusion The quality of life and work-family confilict are approximately equal in the Veterans and normal persons working at the southern oil sites. In addition, the persons are in a realtively good level of quality of life.
