INTRODUCTION: VOLUMETRIC PROPERTIES OF MIXTURES ARE OF INTEREST FROM BOTH THEORETICAL AND ENGINEERING POINTS OF VIEW.THESE PROPERTIES DEPEND NOT ONLY ON SOLUTE–SOLUTE AND SOLVENT–SOLVENT INTERACTIONS, BUT ALSO ON THE INTERSTITIAL ACCOMMODATIONS OF UNLIKE MOLECULES ARISING FROM DIFFERENCES IN MOLAR VOLUME AND FREE VOLUME OF THE SOLUTION COMPONENTS [1–2]. THE VISCOSITY DEVIATIONS OF MIXTURES ARE OF GREAT INDUSTRIAL INTEREST. THE PROPERTY STUDIED HAS PROVED TO BE MEANINGFUL FROM A THERMODYNAMIC POINT OF VIEW, AS IT PROVIDES DIRECT INFORMATION ABOUT THE ENERGETIC EFFECTS ARISING BETWEEN THE MOLECULES PRESENT IN THE MIXTURE, SO IT CAN HELP TO EXPLAIN THE REARRANGING OF THE BONDINGS THAT OCCURS DURING THE MIXING PROCESS, WHICH IS ESSENTIAL WHEN STUDYING NEW THEORETICAL APPROACHES TO THE LIQUID STATE, EITHER PURE OR MIXTURE.
