Abstract:

TRAVELlers are at risk of a diverse range of environmental and infectious conditions, some of which may affect the eyes and lead to blindness in severe cases. TRAVEL-related ocular infections include onchocerciasis, leishmaniasis, cysticercosis, trachoma, dengue, loiasis, and leptospirosis. TRAVEL medicine advisers should also recognise other hazards encountered during TRAVEL which may adversely affect the eye. These include recreational activities such as high altitude trekking, bungee jumping, skiing, scuba diving, and sun exposure. There is a subset of TRAVELlers who have underlying eye conditions, which predispose them to complications during international TRAVEL, including angle-closure glaucoma, and expansion of intraocular gas from previous vitreoretinal surgery. Contact lens wearers have a greater risk of ocular infection and corneal erosion during TRAVEL, especially where hygiene standards are low. Despite the susceptibility of the eye to infection, traumatic injury and environmental damage during international TRAVEL, this topic is not frequently discussed in the context of pre-TRAVEL consultations. TRAVEL medicine professionals should have a reasonable knowledge of the major ocular risks associated with TRAVEL overseas.

Abstract:

Rapid journeys to distant places across time zones produce a general malaise that lasts for up to one week. It can reduce an athletes peak performance and disrupts training schedules and preparations for competition. It results from the slow adjustment of the body clock to the new time zone. Methods for reducing the severity and duration of these negative effects-for use before, during, and in the days after the flight-are described and their scientific basis is explained.

Abstract:

The problem of time TRAVEL has been recently dealt by philosophers as well as physicists. In the realm of philosophy, this problem is being discussed in metaphysics as well as the philosophy of action, the philosophy of language and ethics. According to Lewis’ definition, time TRAVEL will occur if the TRAVELer’ s personal time differs from the external time in magnitude. Some philosophers have found the idea of time TRAVELling as impossible on the basis of some alleged paradoxes. In the contrast, some others have tried to solve these proposed paradoxes and endorsed the possibility of such a TRAVEL. In this paper, I examine a group of the most well-known paradoxes and their proposed solution. These paradoxes include the “ nowhere paradox” , “ the paradox of discrepancy” , “ the paradox of backward causation” , “ the paradox of changing the past” and so on. Eventually, I propose a new paradox as the paradox of identity. I conclude that in spite of some excellent theoretical efforts in order to solve these paradoxes, philosophers have much more to do to show the possibility of time TRAVEL.

Abstract:

This study attempts to achieve two main objectives. The first one is to offera pattern of TRAVEL agency choice by focusing on recreational tours. The second one is to compare important factors, with demographic attributes (such as sex, marital status, age, education, occupation and revenue). Results relevant to first objective, using cluster sampling, among the managers of TRAVEL agencies, and by receiving also the results of 98% of distributed questionnaires among the domestic tourist, as well as applying factor analysis and Freed man tests, shows that from domestic tourists perspective, there are five factors affecting on Tehran's TRAVEL agency choice. These factors are: product attributes; packaged tours by TRAVEL agency; employees' service delivery; price, advertisement and finally physical evidences, as well as the location of TRAVEL agency and tourists' sources of information. Findings for second objective, by using the t student and one way analysis of variance (ANOVA), shows that there are only sex and occupation which are significant at 95 % confidence interval.

Abstract:

Decision making about selecting quality-based programs is a sensitive problem in the firms looking for effectiveness and profitability advantages. The aim of this paper is to utilize Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to deal with prioritizing quality-based investments in service firms under fuzzy environment. For this purpose, at first, alternatives (types of investment) will be identified. Then, exogenous preferences are identified according to the competitive environment and endogenous preferences are determined using the Five-Gaps Model of service quality and gaps analysis. Finally, between different types of investment, the best option is recommended. Also, a real casea TRAVEL agency - is studied to demonstrate the proposed method. The results indicate that the FiveGaps Analysis model combined with multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) and fuzzy set theory have high ability in evaluation of quality-based programs in service firms.

Abstract:

The abundant production of the TRAVEL Literature in the recent years has encouraged us to undertake the study of the genre of TRAVEL Literature based on the work of Jean Marie Schaeffer, entitled What is a genre. In this study we bring up the problem to propose a clear definition for this genre which possesses multiple forms.
