Abstract:

Encyclopedia of new RELIGIOUS movements edited by Peter B. Clarke provides a truly engaging and authentic view of the emerging RELIGIOUS movements on a background of the universe. This encyclopedia, containing 428 articles from leading academics, studies the remarkable examples of RELIGIOUS movements emerging in each continent. Clarke as an editor has written a higher income as "New Religions as a global phenomenon", a "Resource guide of NRM" and a useful article entitled "Typology of new religions" in this encyclopedia. This encyclopedia is a leading, research, updating, important, and valuable reference for academic libraries. However, the encyclopedia suffers from some disadvantages, among which we can refer to apparent contradictions in Index, the incidence of historical errors, print, etc., in its context and putting NRM identified with the Cults, sects, and counter-culture groups

Abstract:

IDENTITY has a comprehensive meaning including: individual, collective, in-group, tribal and transnational identities. There is no doubt that all youth and children come across with a problem in their identities. Those who had more problems previously, live in this crisis. These individuals may be deceived by some extremist RELIGIOUS groups to know more about their potentials or weaknesses, social values and life goals, and social/ RELIGIOUS beliefs. Children try to get new experiences in order to review their origin, but when there is no deep relationship with their parents, so they disappoint. In this case they feel nonsense, dissocialism, wandering and sluggish. IDENTITY crisis is not only one of injurious social factors, but also has negative circumstances such as: divorce, misdemeanance, etc.Our country has young generations, so we confront more IDENTITY crisis which leads disobedience and disclaim liability. It has negative effects on people activities, so our authorities should try more to study the effect of IDENTITY in society. In this research some key approaches have been given in addition to explain IDENTITY crisis, RELIGIOUS IDENTITY and IDENTITY crisis indexes.

Abstract:

The present study tries to answer the question whether IDENTITY styles can predict RELIGIOUS self-regulation styles? 346 pre-university students (aged 18 to 21) from Zahidan were selected for this study through cluster sampling. A questionnaire on RELIGIOUS self-regulation (SRQ-R) and a questionnaire on IDENTITY style inventory (ISI-6G) were used in this research. Pearson Correlation test and stepwise regression were used to analyze the data. The research findings indicate that normative IDENTITY and confusion/avoidant IDENTITY styles can predict the introjected RELIGIOUS self-regulation IDENTITY. Also, normative IDENTITY and information IDENTITY can predict self acceptance and RELIGIOUS self-regulation style.

Abstract:

The main object of the paper is to show the role of social and cultural objects on generational identification. It is derived from this conceptual and theoretical framework which mention each generations can be defined by objects which the people used to do. Therefore, all the objects which has been used by the people are making their identities. On the other hand, the objects are the main factors in distinction and interrelations among generations over time. In a glance, there are three generations over times: the pre-revolution, the revolution and war, and the young generation after the revolution. The comparative method (comparing between objects and generations) and the concept of this article are Inglehart and Ballas.

Abstract:

This research aims at studying the effects globalization had on RELIGIOUS IDENTITY on women and men residing in Tehran in the year of 2011. Today we witness the fact that globalization intensifies social relations worldwide, develops communications, and increases cultural coexistence and interactions through the prominent means (the internet, satellite, etc.). On the other hand, with the increase of cultural interactions, the phenomenon of cultural imperialism happens, and a culture overcomes the other ones. The result would be the appearance of values like relativism, hedonism, and consumerism. The appearance of these values affects the RELIGIOUS IDENTITY of the society. This article using Friedman, George Gerbner, Mazryv, and Michael Banduras’ theories is trying to study the globalization effect on RELIGIOUS IDENTITY of women and men in Tehran. This is a survey-method research, and the data is gathered via the questionnaire for information related to the statistical society. In general, empirical findings show that as the usage of global means (the internet, satellite) by men and women increases, their RELIGIOUS IDENTITY is reduced.

Abstract:

According to its nature and intent, RELIGIOUS IDENTITY is almost the most important part of human IDENTITY and plays a determinant role in the process of IDENTITY-building in the society. It could be said that enforcement of this IDENTITY would guide to the stability of other parts of human IDENTITY as a whole, while any disturbance in RELIGIOUS IDENTITY would cause crisis in it. This is especially correct in the communities within which religion plays a crucial role in the social structuring. The present study discusses the outputs of an empirical investigation and thus attempts to show the affecting factors on the matter. We have studied 400 junior students in Shiraz’s high school, including girls and boys. Results show that 88 percent of the students have high sense of RELIGIOUS IDENTITY, while just 4 percent feel crisis in this field.
