The present study presents three scenes from three STORIES of the Qur'an. In the first scene, Abraham is commissioned in a dream to slaughter his son. He decides to do so and his son obeys the father. In the second scene, Khidr kills a teenager who has not committed a sin. His argument is that "we feared he would overwhelm his parents with rebellion and unfaith". In the third scene, Moses obliges his people to massacre each other to repent of worshiping the calf. The common problem in these three STORIES is ignoring the sanctity of human life. The present article states that the problem is solvable according to religious and theistic ethics. This is because Abraham, Khidr and Moses were commissioned by God, who creates and takes life. As a result, God's behavior cannot be criticized according to human moral standards.
