Abstract: 

Oxytropis guilanica Maassoumi & Moradi is described as a NEW species from Talesh (N Iran, Guilan Province). The NEW species is probably most closely related to O. pilosa (L. ) DC. Androsace elongata L. is a NEW RECORD for Iran that is also collected from this area. These species are compared with their relatives. Distribution map as well as illustrations of these novelties are represented. An identification key for NEW RECORD is prepared.

Abstract: 

During the study of the plants collected from South-East Iran (Baluchestan), a specimen was identified as Coelachyrum brevifolium which is reported as a NEW RECORD to the flora of Iran. The genus was previously known with one species (C. piercei) in Iran. Unlike C. piercei, the species is an annual plant. Morphological characteristics, habitat, images, distribution map and identification key to the species of the genus in Iran are presented.

Abstract: 

Fifty-three lichens are reported from NE Iran based on samples collected in semi-desert areas. Four species are NEW to Iran (Caloplaca albovariegata, Lecidea promixta, Rinodina afghanica and Schaereria fuscocinerea) and 17 species are NEW to the north east of the country. Furthermore, NEW localities are reported for 32 species in the region.

Abstract: 

Potamogeton friesii Rupr. is reported for the first time from the Flora Iranica area. This species was collected from Chaharmahal va Bakhtiari, Gilan, Isfahan and Khuzestan provinces. It is distinguished from its closest relatives, Potamogeton pusillus and P. berchtoldii, by having 5-7-veind, wide leaf and stipules which split at the top and being free from each other at upper part and also this species is reddish or brownish in fresh status. A geographical distribution map, anatomical features and an illustration of the species are given.

Abstract: 

Nepeta natanzensis Jamzad is described as a NEW species from Karkas Mountain in Esfahan province. It is related to N. lasiocephala Benth. But differs from it in floral characters, indumentum and bracts. These species belong to the natural group of species in Sect. Capituliferae (Benth.) Pojark. characterized by the capitate inflorescence, corolla and calyx shape. Nepeta trachonitica Post is RECORDed from NW Iran for the first time.

Abstract: 

During identification of the NEW collection of the Cyperaceous specimens from N. W. Iran, Carex tristis was identified and is reported as a NEW RECORD for the flora of Iran. Kobresia humilis and Carex medwedewii are other interesting species among the collected materials. A NEW combination, Carex popovii subsp. brunneola (Kukkonen) Amini Rad is introduced. Morphological characteristics, habitats and distribution for each species are presented.
