Abstract:

Forage legumes respond differently to LIMITED IRRIGATION regimes. Their evaluation may, thus, help to select drought tolerant types for LIMITED IRRIGATION conditions. In this study four type of forage legume were studied for two years in Tikma-Dash Research Station of East Azarbaijan Agricultural and Natural Research Center, Tabriz, Iran, in a randomized complete block design using split-plot experiment in 2011-2013 years. IRRIGATION regimes (without IRRIGATION, one IRRIGATION and two IRRIGATIONs) were assigned to main plots and four forage types (hairy vetch, grass pea, Pannonica sativa and lathyrus) were assigned to subplots. The results of analysis of variance showed that the effect of IRRIGATION on plant height, number of shoots, leaf area and plant fresh and dry weights were not significant. Howere, legume types affected these traits significantly (P£0.01). The effect of IRRIGATION levels and legume types on protein content of hay were significant (P<0.01). The effects of year and legume type were also significant as to fresh and dry yield of forages. However IRRIGATION, year ´ IRRIGATION and IRRIGATION ´ legume type interactions were not significant. Interaction effect of year ´ legume type was significant (P£0.01). It seems that under the environmental conditions of this research, differences between no IRRIGATION treatment and IRRIGATION treatments were non significant. Considering the results of variance analysis for all quantitative traits measured and crude protein percentages in fresh and dry forage types and yield hairy vetch and lathyrus can be considered a promising type to introduce for dry lands.

Abstract:

In order to study the effect of deficit IRRIGATION and bio-fertilizer on potato cultivars, a field experiment was conducted at Ardabil Agricultural and Natural Research Center, Iran, in year 2014. Water deficit stress set as main factor with three levels, I1 (full IRRIGATION), I2 (0. 8 full IRRIGATION) and I3 (0. 6 full IRRIGATION, three genotypes set as split plot and bio fertilizer set as split split plot based on randomized complete block design with three replications. Adjectives such as emergence and flowering time, plant height, main stem diameter, number of stem, leaf and stem dry weight, chlorophyll and carotenoid content and plant yield were studied. Results indicated that all traits significantly affected by IRRIGATION treatments, exception number of branches. Emergence, flowering date, plant height, stem diameter, number of branches and plant yield had significant differences among genotypes. Effect of interactions between IRRIGATION and genotype were significant on stem diameter only. Bio fertilizer increased amount of all traits as plant yield increased in 10 percent proportion compared with control. The highest potato yield was obtained in Clone 97-2. The highest yield obtained with full IRRIGATION and potato yield decreased 40 percent by severe water stress compared with control. Therefore using of bio fertilizer recommended as supplement fertilizer for potato.

Abstract:

A field experiment was conducted in 2008, to investigate the effects of different IRRIGATION treatments (I1, I2, I3 and I4: well-watering on the bases of 70mm evaporation from class A pan and IRRIGATION disruptions at flowering stage, grain filling stage and during flowering and grain filling stages, respectively) on growth and yield of three pinto bean cultivars (Talash, Khomain and COS16). The experiment was arranged as split-plot based on randomized complete block design in 3 replications, with the IRRIGATION treatments in main plots and pinto bean cultivars in sub-plots. Dry matter accumulation, crop growth rate, relative growth rate and grain yield per unit area decreased, due to water stress at reproductive stages. The percentage of grain yield reduction under IRRIGATION disruption during flowering and grain filling stages compared to well-watering condition was about 40.25% .The most reduction was happened at water disruption during flowering and grain filling stages. Dry matter accumulation and crop growth rate of Talash was higher than for Khomain and COS16. Grain yield of khomain was slightly higher than that of other pinto bean cultivars. However, this difference was not statistically significant.

Abstract:

In order to investigate the LIMITED IRRIGATION impact on physical characteristics of seed in nine sunflower hybrids, three 3-replicate field experiments RCBC were conducted under three IRRIGATION regimes (IRRIGATION after 60, 120 and 180 mm cumulative evaporation from class A evaporation pan, respectively) at the research field of Seed and Plant Improvement Institute in Karaj, Iran. The results showed that the Maximum length, width and seed diameter were obtained from IRRIGATION after 60 mm cumulative evaporation from pan, and IRRIGATIONs after 120 and 180 mm evaporation caused to decrease the length by 11% and 16%, width by 21% and 26% and seed diameter by 22% and 28%, respectively. Therefore the seed diameter in comparison with width and seed length was most susceptible to LIMITED IRRIGATIONs levels. The Maximum length was seen in hybrid of A74×R95, and the maximum width and seed diameter were observed in hybrids of Allstar. Also, A74×R95 under IRRIGATIONs after 60 and 120 mm evaporation and Azargol under IRRIGATION after 180 mm evaporation had the highest seed weight.

Abstract:

In order to study susceptibility and tolerance of rapessed cultivars (Brasica napus L.) under LIMITED IRRIGATION condition in 2005 and farm of seed and plant improvement research institute an experiment was conducted in form split plot design based on complete block design with four replications. IRRIGATION as main factor in two levels (Normal IRRIGATION, after 80 mm evaporated water from class A evaporation pan and LIMITED IRRIGATION, stop irrigated after stem elongation stage) and rapeseed cultivars in twenty levels as sub factor. The results showed that IRRIGATION had significant effect on 1000 seed weight, number of pods in plant, seed number in pods, seed yield, biological yield, harvest index and oil yield. In LIMITED IRRIGATION seed yield, biologic yield, harvest index and seed oil yield respectively decreased 42, 16, 23 and 50 percent compared to normal IRRIGATION. Plant height, branch, pod number in main stem and pod number in branch had significant and positive correlation with seed and biologic yield.

Abstract:

In order to study of LIMITED IRRIGATION effect on phenologic, morphologic and agronomic traits of nine sunflower hybrids, three separate experiments were conducted in a completely randomized block design at the research field of Seed and Plant Improvement Institute in Karaj. The first experiment was conducted at the optimum conditions and plants were irrigated after 60 mm evaporation from evaporation pan, whereas the second and third experiments were irrigated after 120, 180 mm evaporation from evaporation pan, class A, respectively, and those were considered as LIMITED IRRIGATION conditions. The results showed that LIMITED IRRIGATION had significant effects (p£0.01) on plant height, head diameter, seed and oil yield. The days to seed filling stage was affected by LIMITED IRRIGATION, but there was no significant effect on days to blooming stage. The highest seed yield was obtained from IRRIGATION after 60 mm evaporation from pan (control) as 2932 kh.ha-1 and severe LIMITED IRRIGATION caused to decrease the seed yield to 500 Kg.ha-1 by %83. Hybrids had also significant differences in all traits. The Allstar had the highest yield in the LIMITED IRRIGATION levels (1671 and 701 kg.ha-1, respectively) and in normal IRRIGATION condition Mehr was superior to others (3861 kg.ha-1).

Abstract:

In order to study the effects of water stress on different traits of common bean, thirty white lines bean were studied based on randomized complete block design under two water stress and non stress conditions, Analysis of variance for most traits showed significant differences among genotypes, Most traits were affected by the stress, Stepwise regression analysis showed that in white genotypes under water stress conditions, pod weight, harvest index, 100 seed weight and number of seed per plant and under non stress conditions pod weight, harvest index and biological yield have the highest effect on seed yield, Factor analysis was performed for white genotypes both in water stress and non stress conditions and in all conditions three common factor have been extracted, which describe most of traits variations, In order to identify tolerant genotypes, drought resistance attributes were calculated, Mean productivity (MP), Geometric Mean Productivity (GMP) and Stress Tolerance Index (STI) were identified as the best drought resistance indexes, Also by using biplot display for red genotypes separately, white genotypes number 21 and 30 were selected as resistant lines.
