Inevitably, it is essential to identify variant dimensions and indexes of managers’ adequacy. This problem is considered as the core of this study. This research makes use of qualitative method and interview. As for sampling, after interviewing 12 participants, this research reached saturation point where repetition was observed. Thematic analysis was utilized to encode data, which resulted in eight dimensions: GENERAL knowledge and awareness, intelligence and talent, values and attitudes, personality traits, communication skills, decision-making skills, leadership and management abilities. Moreover, some sub-themes concordant to the related literature were found. Findings of the present study suggest the argument that in order to determine every individual’s adequacy positions should be aptly identified by proper procedures firstly. Then, an appropriate competency model in line with the organization should be developed. In addition, such a model needs to fit with the structure of the organization and its positions and strategies.

Objective: Acknowledging the key role of hardiness, importance of HEALTH and its various dimensions, the present study aimed to investigate the simultaneous relationship between hardiness components and spiritual HEALTH, burnout, and GENERAL HEALTH, among Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences staff. Method: 307 Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences’ staff in Tehran with at least five years work experience participated in this cross-sectional study using simple random sampling. Four questionnaires were used to evaluate the participants: the 28-item GENERAL HEALTH Questionnaire (GHQ) to assess GENERAL mental problems with four subscales, 22-item Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) with two aspects (frequency and intensity) and three subscales of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment, the 20-item Spiritual Well Being Scale (SWBS) Questionnaire with two subscales of religious well-being and existential well-being and the 50-item Kobasa Hardiness Questionnaire to measure psychological hardiness with three subscales of control, commitment and challenge. At the end, two conceptual models which have shown effect of hardiness and its subscales on GENERAL HEALTH, Spiritual HEALTH and burnout were evaluated by path analysis. Results: According to the path analysis results, it was found that hardiness and its subscales, which were approved by univariable and multivariable analyses, had significant relationship with GENERAL HEALTH (direct effect:-0. 525, P < 0. 001), spiritual HEALTH (direct effect: 0. 555, P < 0. 001) and burnout (direct effect of frequency aspect:-0. 523, P < 0. 001). Thus, by increasing hardiness and its subscales, spiritual HEALTH increases while symptoms of illness and burnout decrease. Conclusion: Spiritual HEALTH increases as hardiness and its subscales increase as well; therefore, symptoms of illness and burnout decrease as hardiness and its subscales increase.

Context: The emergency staff work in stressful environments and deal with critically ill patients. The occupational nature of their work is such that they are always at risk of being exposed to work violence by patients or patient companions. Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between anger with GENERAL HEALTH in emergency personnel. Setting and Design: This was a correlational study that was done in prehospital emergency services and hospital emergency departments in Golestan province, in Iran in 2019. Materials and Methods: The study conducted on 400 of emergency personnel. Samples were selected through multistage sampling. The sampling design included stratified sampling, cluster sampling, and convenience sampling in the first, second, and third stage, respectively. Data were collected using demographic, Spielberger's anger, and GENERAL HEALTH questionnaires. Statistical Analysis Used: Description of sample under study presented using mean, standard deviation, and frequency. Assessment of associations was performed using Mann-Whitney and correlational analysis at significance level of 0. 05. Results: The mean total score of anger of emergency personnel was 121. 94 ± 14. 66 and for the prehospital and hospital emergency personnel were 123. 53 ± 14. 08 and 119. 38 ± 15. 26, respectively (P = 0. 002). The mean total score of GENERAL HEALTH was 12. 40 ± 4. 22 and for prehospital emergency and emergency personnel were 12. 23 ± 4. 18 and 12. 67 ± 4. 29, respectively (P = 0. 75). There was a positive and significant correlation between all three dimensions of GENERAL HEALTH and all three dimensions of anger so that with increasing anger, GENERAL HEALTH decreased. Conclusion: Emergency personnel were in good GENERAL HEALTH while their anger score was above average. Furthermore, there was a significant inverse correlation between anger and mental HEALTH, so that by increasing the dimensions of anger expression, the GENERAL HEALTH of prehospital and hospital emergency staff was reduced.

This before-after clinical trial investigated the effect of daylight on morning and night melatonin, subjective GENERAL HEALTH using GHQ questionnaire, sleepiness and alertness on elderly who lived in nursing houses. Nineteen nursing home residents participated voluntarily. They exposed to daylight from 9 to 10 A.M. and from 4 to 5 P.M. for 6 weeks. GENERAL HEALTH of all participants was evaluated using GENERAL HEALTH questionnaire (GHQ) as well. Also we used of KSS and VAS questionnaire foe assessment of sleepiness and alertness. Baseline morning and night melatonin levels were 25.39 (±19.75) pg/ml, and 40.3 (±21.55) pg/ml respectively. Daylight exposure significantly affected morning melatonin at 7:00 A.M. but had no significant effect on night melatonin at 8:00 P.M. Mean score of GENERAL HEALTH changed 36.31 to 29.89 (P=0.003). Karolinska sleepiness scale (KSS) and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) showed increase sleepiness and decrease alertness from 3:00 to 7:00 A.M. Sleepiness decreased and alertness increased during 1:00 P.M and 20:00 P.M. Overall day light exposure may delay sleep phase and circadian rhythm problems in elderly people. Anxiety and insomnia could be improved with daylight exposure. Our findings suggest that elders should be exposed to scheduled daylight in morning and evening for prevention and improvement of mental disorders. Adequate light should be provided for elder’s homes and nursing house. We have proposed to further study with a larger sample size be done to assess effect of daylight on GHQ'' subscales.

Background: There are several studies regarding sexual dysfunction in chronic diseases such as diabetes and renal failure; however, no significant study has been done on Iranian rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients. Objectives: In this study, we aimed to identify and compare sexual dysfunction between RA patients and the normal population.Patients and Methods: In this case-control study, two groups of females (87 RA patients and 89 controls) were randomly selected from the rheumatology clinic of Baqiyatallah Hospital, Tehran, Iran. GENERAL HEALTH questionnaire (GHQ-28) and multidimensional sexual self-concept questionnaire (MSSCQ) were used to evaluate RA patients. We used SPSS for statistical analysis mainly by the t-test and chi-square test. P values less than 0.05 were considered significant. Results: In the GHQ-28 evaluation, RA patients had lower social function; however somatization rated higher in normal patients (P<0.05). Sexual HEALTH was lower in the RA population (P<0.05). No significant difference was found in sexual desire. Except sexual pain, other sexual HEALTH parameters were lower in RA patients. The scores were as follow: sensation 13.6±4.4 vs.12.2±4.5, P=0.024; lubrication 6.9±2.1 vs.6.2±2.1, P=0.017; orgasm 10.4±2.8 vs.9.5±3.2, P=0.37; pain 10.1±2.2 vs.10.8±1.9, P=0.013; enjoyment 23.8±5.8 vs.21.3±7.5, P=0.009 and partner related - 8.5±1.7 vs.7.6±2.4, P=0.005. Furthermore, the concern of losing their sexual partner was higher in the normal population. Conclusions: Our study demonstrated that almost all GHQ and MSSCQ parameters were lower in RA patients, which indicates lower quality sexual life in RA patients. We recommend further consideration for the treatment and care of these patients.
