Abstract:

A finite element analysis is presented for sloshing and impulsive motion of liquid-filled conical tanks during lateral anti-symmetric excitation. The performed analyses led to the development of a number of charts which can be used to identify the natural FREQUENCY, the mode shapes of conical tanks for both fundamental and the cos (q) -modes of vibration. Conical tank geometry was described with several parameters namely, bottom radius (Rb) total height of liquid (h), angle of inclination of the tanks (qi), as variables. Numerical result of the free vibration was obtained for the cases of conical tanks with qi=0 and compared with existing experiments and other predicated results, showing a good agreement between the experiment and numerical results.

Abstract:

Introduction: Education is a full stress experiment which can cause some physical and psychological effects, especially these may be intensified in medical sciences students; because it compound with stress of clinical fields.Aim: This study was done to determine FREQUENCY of suicidal ideation in nursing, midwifery and medical emergency students in Iranshahr province in Iran in 2010.Method: This study was an analytic- descriptive; cross- sectional study. The samples were all 288 nursing; midwifery and medical emergency students in Iranshahr; who were enrolled in 2010. Data collection tools were demographic questionnaire and Beck’s standard scale of suicide ideation. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics such as Chi-square test, Fisher and Pearson correlation (a=0.05) in SPSS16.Results: Mean of suicidal ideation scores was 20.73 (16.83). Suicide ideation was existed in 26.4 % of samples that 17% of them had suicidal thoughts and also 9.4% of them had susceptible for suicide. Suicidal ideation had significant relation with sex, grade of education and marital status (p<0.05) but it was not related with age, educational field and occupational status of students (p>0.05).Conclusion: It is necessary that guided consultation services and special trainings about healthy living and methods of dealing with stress plan for students. And if it is possible, experts would be invite to use kinds of psychological tests for screening in universities and schools. It would be diagnosed and treatment of mental disorders on time and that will prevent irretrievable damages in future in university students.

Abstract:

Introduction: Psychiatric disorders are common among different groups of patients and could have adverse effects on their social functioning. Specific populations, such as diabetic patients, are known to be more vulnerable to psychiatric disorders. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of psychiatric symptoms among diabetic patients.Methodology: In this study, 100 diabetic patients were selected using convenience sampling. For comparison, a population consisting of 100 non-diabetic patients was selected, and samples were matched in terms of age, education status and socioeconomic status. The two groups were evaluated using the Symptom Checklist-90- Revised (SCL-90-R), consisting of 90 items for the diagnostic assessment of psychiatric disorders. In the Iranian population, cut-off point of SCL-90-R has been reported to be 0.4.Results: According to the theoretical observations of this study, psychiatric symptoms are more prevalent among diabetic patients compared to non-diabetic ones. In addition, scores of different psychiatric scales were higher in diabetic patients, with the highest and lowest scores belonging to anxiety (2.66±0.88) and psychosis (0.99±0.67), respectively. Conclusion: According to the results of this study, high FREQUENCY of psychiatric symptoms in diabetic patients is indicative of the vulnerability of these individuals to mental disorders. Therefore, it is recommended that regular assessments and timely referrals for treatment be performed in order to implement accurate mental health interventions for these patients.

Abstract:

The NAVSTAR Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation and positioning system which includes a constellation of 32 satellites, remote control stations and its receivers and can be used for determination the geographical positions of its users. GPS signal simulator needs for test and verification of GPS receiver' s performances in special applications at the Laboratory. For this mission we should simulate the various static and dynamic scenarios for GPS receiver tracks and generate GPS signals for all the satellites. For GPS signals, generation of all its elements like the Navigation messages, C/A codes, frame and subframe structures should be defined and used in this project.

Abstract:

Introduction: Chronic renal disease compromises of several renal involvements and several causative risk factors such as debates mellitus, hypertension, and old age. Ocular involvement seems to be related to chronic renal failure and hemodialysis as indicated by different studies. The aim of this study was the evaluation of prevalence of ocular manifestation in hemodialysis patients of Hamadan Besat hospital. Methods: This research was a cross sectional descriptive study, in which ocular signs in 74 hemodialysis patients, who referred to Besat hospital of Hamadan, Iran, during year 2015, were evaluated. Collected information related to patients included age, gender, dialysis duration, and background risk factors of chronic renal failure. All patients had been exanimated by an ophthalmologist. Results: Fifty percent of patients in the study were male and 50% were female. Average age of patients was 58.8 years and median duration of dialysis was 40.16 months. Mean visual acuity was 4.58 (of 10). Most common ocular manifestations were: macula abnormality (59.5%), cataract (56.7%), eye pain (56.7%), eye redness (52.7%), dry eyes (50%), and eyelid edema (43.2%), respectively. Conclusion: Hypertension and diabetes mellitus are the most common causes of chronic renal failure. The most common ocular manifestations were macular abnormality followed by cataract. According to high prevalence of these complications in hemodialysis patients, regular monitoring of patients for early detection and thus effective treatment seems to be necessary to improve their quality of life.

Abstract:

Background and Objective: Laboratory errors are one of the major factors that affect the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and monitoring in patients. The objective of study is to evaluate the FREQUENCY and type of errors in different phases of testing at the Pathology Department of the Shalamar Hospital, Lahore and to evaluate the causes of errors. Methods: This observational study was carried out in Shalamar Hospital Laboratories Lahore from 1st July 2011 to 31st December 2011. Errors detected and documented on daily basis. Results: A total of 127,500 samples were received and processed during the six months period. Out of the total samples, 1530 (1.2) errors were detected. Among all errors pre-analytical errors were most common, with a FREQUENCY of 70.4%, post-analytical 17.5% and analytical 12.1%.Conclusions: Our study demonstrates the types and frequencies of errors. It is very important to monitor the all phases so to reduce the FREQUENCY of error for better reporting of lab results, ultimately which ensures the patient well-being.

Abstract:

For further and various applications of communication systems, we lead to using the overall of electromagnetic spectrum. Also, because of the developing f multiband wireless systems, antenna designers are enforced to design antennas matched to the operation in multi-band and multi-FREQUENCY. On the other hand, nowadays, the use of light-weight, simple, small and inexpensive antennas is an essential requirement for covering multi bands. In this paper, a microstrip antenna is designed and suggested fractal-based and utilized FR4 substrate with small size and light, and also ability to resonance in multi-FREQUENCY by increasing fractal repetitions and self-similarity property. Therefore, this proposed structure causes the antenna resonance in more frequencies, and also leads to miniaturization of its size. This antenna operates in 1-10 GHz range includes five FREQUENCY resonance for the most of convenient applications. Also, it has appropriate pattern and circular polarization which increases its applications. The antenna has been fabricated and there is a good agreement between measurement results and full wave simulation using HFSS software.‏

Abstract:

Objective: determining difference limen for FREQUENCY (DLF) in string musicians. Materials &Methods: This case-control study was conducted on 15string musicians with musicianship> 10 years (30 ears) and 15 normal hearing subjects (30 ears). They all were male and 20-30 years old. DLF was measured after otoscopy and immitance audiometry and pure tone audiometry. Results: DLF was significantly different between two groups of case and control. DLF in musicians is less than the normal hearing subjects. Conclusion: It seems that familiarization with notes results in better DLF in musicians comparing to others.
