Abstract:

Background: Happiness is a drive and constructive force of life. A person feels wellbeing under different effective factors. Religious DOGMATISM that has an influence on the entire world is one of the depreciatory factors of happiness or wellbeing. The current study decided to analyze the relation between DOGMATISM and wellbeing, and according to a model, answer the following question: how does religious DOGMATISM decrease wellbeing. Methods: This study is a correlation research. Population of study includes all people with 30-50 yr old who live in Tehran, Iran, in 2015. Among all, 180 subjects were selected as in access sample. The Oxford happiness questionnaire and Rokeach DOGMATISM scale were used. Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation test. Results: There is a significant negative correlation between DOGMATISM and happiness (α=0.05).Conclusion: DOGMATISM is one of the factors that have a negative effect on wellbeing. Religious DOGMATISM is the most dangerous factor against wellbeing. Dogmatic individuals have an inflexible cognitive system that emerges as a stable personality trait and decreases their adjustment with environment. Affective well-being and cognitive wellbeing are affected by individual adjustment. Therefore, in dogmatic individuals with low adjustment, the decrease of affective well-being and cognitive wellbeing is inevitable. This process will result in decrease of happiness and increase of aggression.

Abstract:

Bigotry and DOGMATISM are as old as religions and human opinions. History of Islam and Islamic societies, too, witnessed this deviated movement from the beginning, though it had fluctuation in different periods. In the modern era, specifically, dogmatic movement tended to be stronger and deeper. The paper emphasizes on a type of DOGMATISM that has a Salafi view of religion and does not accept change and innovation based on principles. Imam Khomeini's movement opposes such DOGMATISMs. Thus, he explicitly and strongly fought against bigotry. After the Islamic revolution, his resistance against DOGMATISM was intensified and, especially during the last years of his life, in a historical message about clergies, he said, "the sufferings I sustained at the hand of this dogmatic group are much more than pressures and hardships from others".

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between happiness, DOGMATISM-flexibility and demographic variables in Isfahan population. Therefore, in the format of a correlation research design, 80 male and 80 female subjects were selected from Isfahan city, using cluster random sampling. All subjects responded to the items of the Oxford Happiness Inventory the, DOGMATISM Scale (a = 0.70) and a demographic questionnaire. Data were analyzed by Pearson's correlation coefficient, regression and covariate. It was hypothesized that there would be significant relations between all the variables. The results showed that there was a significant positive correlation between happiness and flexibility (p<0.01). There was also a significant negative correlation between happiness and family size (p<0.01). Further, the results revealed that family size significantly predicted 8.4% of happiness, (p< 0.01). Therefore, it was concluded that the more flexibility increases and the more family size decreases, the more happiness increases.

Abstract:

The foundational part of social capital is made of communication networks and awareness about social relationships. Accordingly, the way individuals face and perceive the quality of relations and the quality of knowledge will influence the growth or reduction of social capital. The epistemic-behavioral pathology of this domain reveals that DOGMATISM has a significant role in the destruction of communication networks. The purpose of this study was to elucidate various aspects of DOGMATISM, discuss its influence on reducing social capital, and offer an essential solution to diminish the effects of this problem. Using the descriptive-exploratory research method, DOGMATISM was analyzed in the epistemic and behavioral domains, and its effect on social capital were probed. With its emphasis on thematic analysis, the analytical method is one of the useful methods in theoretical-philosophical research arena. Within the theoretical studies domain, this method is mostly used to induce concepts and ideate theories. This paper suggests philosotherapy as the essential solution to face DOGMATISM. Creating a dialectic milieu for understanding, philosotherapy (aka philosophical consultation) sets a foundation on which social awareness is developed and social relations are enhanced. Consequently, treating the damaging roots of social capital in the two realms of cognition and behavior and developing wisdom, philosotherapy sets the ground for novel studies to deepen and enhance the convergence of social capital components.

Abstract:

Background and Aim: Present research intends to evaluate structural equations among DOGMATISM, identity styles, commitment and religious faith using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Hypothesis indicates that individuals who are dogmatic considering their cognitive style, are more likely to have normative identity style, more committed to their beliefs and more prepared to accept religious faith. Methods: This research is descriptive-correlative type. 160 young people from Tabriz, Iran participated and they had the age of 20 to 35 years old. Mentioned group responded to Rokeach’, s DOGMATISM scale, fifth version of Identity Style Inventory (ISI-5) and The Santa Clara Strength of Religious Faith Questionnaire (SCSORF). Data analysis administered using Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling. In addition, in order to categorize, analyze and compute data SPSS ver. 25 and SPSS Amos ver. 24 applications were used. Results: Assessment of the model based on hypothesis clarified that it’, s fitting according to model fit scores (CFI=0. 94, GFI=0. 95, NFI=0. 89, RMSEA=0. 081). Also, correlations between variables were in the same direction with predicted model (p<0. 05). Conclusion: Generally, present article concluded there is a strong relationship between DOGMATISM-related cognitive style and identity style formation which leads to high levels of commitment and tendency to religious belief and faith.

Abstract:

Due to the impact of DOGMATISM on many areas of individual and social life, much research is done focusing on this cognitive construct. However, since that there is no instrument in Iran for assessing DOGMATISM, the aim of this study is to prepare Rokeach’s DOGMATISM questionnaire and investigate its reliability and validity in Iranian students. Finally, 412 students were selected using multi-stage stratified sampling from Shahid Beheshti University students and completed the Persian version of Rokeach’s DOGMATISM Questionnaire along with the Conservative thinking style subscale of Sternberg’s thinking styles Inventory. Data were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis by principal component analysis. Analysis showed that the questionnaire is composed of 12 factors having values above 1, which altogether explain 56 percent of its variance. Cronbach’s alpha was 0.75 for whole questionnaire and its correlation with the Conservative thinking style subscale was significantly positive. The results of the present study indicate that this questionnaire is relatively suitable for implementation in the Iranian student community.

Abstract:

Objective: The use of various sciences with the aim of solving the problems facing financial researchers in recent years as an essential need, given the issues and problems caused by the psychological and social destructive effects of capital market fluctuations, is felt more than ever. In this regard, the present study examines the impact of financial socialization on financial satisfaction with the mediating role of financial DOGMATISM, which to investigate the mediating effect, four main objectives are: 1-The impact of financial socialization on financial satisfaction 2-Financial socialization on financial DOGMATISM 3-The effect of financial DOGMATISM on financial satisfaction and 4-Explaining the effect of financial DOGMATISM on the relationship between financial socialization and financial satisfaction were examined. Method: In this regard, 450 questionnaires were distributed among investors in the Tehran Stock Exchange. Out of 430 collected items, 398 questionnaires were accepted and structural equation modeling (SEM) and Amos software version 26 were used to analyze the data. The maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) method has also been used to predict the amount of unknown parameters. Results: The results indicate that financial socialization has a positive and significant effect on financial satisfaction and a negative and significant effect on financial DOGMATISM. Also, financial DOGMATISM has a negative and significant effect on financial satisfaction. In general, the results show that in the relationship between financial socialization and financial satisfaction, financial DOGMATISM has a mediating role, and since financial socialization, in the absence of financial dogmaism, directly affects financial satisfaction, in this relationship, a partial mediating role Plays. Conclusion: Given the positive impact of financial socialization, one of the dimensions of which is social media networks on financial satisfaction, it is appropriate for companies to achieve the goals of financial reporting, voluntary disclosure of information and signaling that reduces risk and information symmetry., To inform through new methods such as social networks and add them to previous reporting methods. Also, by increasing measures for financial socialization, such as the development of social networks, it is possible to reduce the financial dogma of investors and increase their trust, which is considered an obstacle to investment. Therefore, by increasing the volume of investment in the capital market, while reducing the risks of entering the market and its prosperity, we will see an increase in the financial satisfaction of investors and their greater confidence. In addition, by increasing the financial satisfaction of individuals, it will increase the amount of investment.
