Abstract:

Introduction: C-reactive protein (CRP) is an acute-phase protein produced by the liver in response to inflammation and is recognized as a key biomarker for inflammation. Elevated CRP levels in the blood indicate the onset of an inflammatory response in the body, which can result from various factors, including infection, tissue damage, and chronic inflammatory conditions. This study aims to investigate the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms rs1205 and rs3093068 in the CRP gene with serum CRP levels in the Tehran Cardiometabolic Genetic Study (TCGS) adult population. Materials and Methods: In this case-control study, 639 individuals from the Tehran Cardiometabolic Genetic Study, with a mean age of 48±16 years (range: 20-87), were selected. Genotyping was performed using the HumanOmniExpress-24-v1-0 chip. Statistical analysis was carried out using R software. Results: The genotype frequencies followed Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. The frequency of the CC genotype for both studied polymorphisms was significantly higher in individuals with a body mass index (BMI) above normal. Additionally, this genotype was more frequent in individuals with CRP levels above the normal range (CRP≥3000 ng). Conclusion: This study's findings suggest an association between the genotypes of the rs1205 and rs3093068 polymorphisms in the CRP gene and elevated serum CRP levels in the Tehran population under investigation.

Introduction: C-reactive protein (CRP) is a sensitive marker of endothelial activation and inflammation process. The association between an inflammatory state and CRP has prompted research on changes in CRP levels in assisted reproductive technique (ART) cycles. The aim of this survey was to assess CRP levels during IVF stimulation and to correlate them with IVF success.Materials and Methods: Eighty women, who underwent IVF treatment, were prospectively studied in Fatemiyeh University Hospital, Hamadan University of Medial Sciences during 2007. Women excluded with an autoimmune diseases, recent history of surgical, trauma and infection. Levels of serum CRP were evaluated on the following days: oocyte retrieval, embryo transfer and 12 days after embryo transfer Women with positive b-hCG levels (>10000 IU) had ongoing pregnancies, confirmed by ultrasound scans served as conceived or successful IVF group. Results: Seventeen (21%) patients had successful IVF. In comparison to non-pregnant or IVF failure group, CRP levels were significantly lower in successful IVF group. CRP levels were 2.48±2.18 mg/l on oocyte retrieval day, 2.50±1.45 mg/l on embryo transfer day and 1.94±1.39 mg/l 12 days after embryo transfer (p<0.001) in successful IVF group. The CRP levels were not significantly different in each group according to day of sample retrieval (p>0.05).Conclusion: In women treated successfully by IVF, the CRP concentrations were significantly lower than the non-pregnant group

Abstract:

Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP) model is applied to control the output plant of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) model. These models have deeply investigated in deterministic circumstances. However there are a few models for uncertain conditions. This paper develops a CRP model for a probabilistic case. The case is an overhaul center in which the repairing aredone on the disassembled parts. The case is an overhaul center in which the repairing operations are done on the disassembled parts. The disassembled parts may he in one of three situations: workable, repairable and salvage. Therefore the classic CRP model cannot be used to check the required capacity. EXplaining the algorithm of classic CRP model, the paper expands its concept to develop a special CRP model. Using an example, the capability of new model is indicated.

Abstract:

Introduction. Central nervous system infections are among the most serious conditions in of medical practice. C-reactive Protein has recently been evaluated in terms of its ability to diffeccentiate bacterial from nonbacterial central nervous system inflammations. Methods. We studied the frequency of positive CRP in 61 patients who had signs of meningitis. All the specimens referred to one laboratory and were examined by Slide method. Results. Positive CRP was found in 97.6 percent of those who were finally diagnosed as bacterial meningitis. The frequency of CRP for other types of meningitis was 16.6 percent (P<0.05).Discussion. In the absence of infection, CSF is free of CRP. Positive CRP may help to the differentiate the different types of meningitis.

Abstract:

Introduction: An elevated serum C- reactive protein (CRP) has been shown to be strongly predictive of morbidity and mortality in dialysis patients. However, little information is available regarding CRP levels in predialysis renal failure. The aim of our study was, determine the significance of high CRP levels in pre dialysis patients.Material and Method: In a cross- sectional study 100 pre dialysis patients were studied. The CRP levels, nutritional data [body mass index (BMI), serum albumin, cholestrol, triglycerides], hematocrit (HCT), hremoglobin (Hb), serum creatinine, creatinine clearance, urinary protein levels and blood pressure were measured and compared between patients with high (>6mg/l) or low (<6mg/l) CRP levels. Results: In 100 chronic pre dialysis patients mean age was 48/8±12/8 years. CRP was greater than 6mg/1 in 35%. We found some statistical relationship between high serum CRP levels and BMI, creatinine clearance, serum Albumin, serum cholestrol and high blood pressure. Conclusions: The prevalence of inflammation is high in predialysis patients. As occurs in dialysis patients, predialysis inflammation predicts morbidity in pre dialysis stage but further investigation should be done in this regard.

Background and Aim: Increased level of CRP which is one of the acute phase reactive proteins, besides increasing risk of cardiovascular disease can indicate extravascular inflammation. Decreasing the level of CRP and other inflammatory factors reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. There are controversies about the effect of phase one periodontal treatment on serum CRP level. This study was aimed to ascertain if phase one periodontal treatment could modify serum CRP level in patients with moderate to severe periodontitis.Materials and Method: In this clinical trial study (before & after treatment) 45 patients with moderate to severe periodontitis participated. Plaque index, pocket depth, attachment loss, bleeding on probing and serum CRP were determined. Then, phase one periodontal treatment was accomplished for all subjects. After 2 months, the patients were visited again and were rechecked. Effects of treatment were assessed by Paired-T test and Wilcoxon Sing Test. Results: The study was performed on 30 patients in the age of 53.3±7.1.thirteen were males and 17 were females. Pocket depth was reduced 25.07% in control group and 16.26% in cases CAL was gained 20.9% in control group and 21.42% in cases, HbA1c in the control group was reduced from 6.2%±1.01 to 6.03%±0.92 (P<0.2). And changed from 6.3%±1.17 to 4.8%±0.92 in the case group, which means the reduction about 23.8% and was statistically significant (p<0.001).Conclusion: Despite effective phase one periodontal treatment and improvement of periodontal parameters, there was no influence on serum CRP level.
