Abstract:

Background: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most prevalent chronic liver condition that is associated with sedentary lifestyle and inappropriate feeding habits. The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of 12 weeks of combined training with dietary APPROACHES to stop hypertension (DASH) diet on alanine transaminase (ALT) enzyme levels, liver fat, and anthropometric indices in patients with NAFLD. Methods: This was an interventional, double-blind randomized clinical trial study with two arms, DASH diet and DASH diet with combined exercise. Patients in both groups received the relevant diet under the supervision of a specialist, and patients in group 2 performed the selected combination exercise according to the schedule. Variables were measured at specific times. Findings: The consumption of DASH diet and combined exercise significantly reduced the mean liver fat, weight and waist to hip index (WHR) in both groups. ALT enzyme showed a significant decrease in exercise group (P < 0. 050). Conclusion: According to the findings, consumption of DASH diet and combined exercise can improve some indicators in patients with fatty liver.

Abstract:

This paper attempts to provide an answer to two key questions: 1) In general, what APPROACHES to political change have been pursued by agents of change in different societies? What are the key features of these different APPROACHES to political change? 2) How can one evaluate the political developments in Iran from the viewpoint of ‘revolutionary’ and ‘reformist’ APPROACHES? Construection of ideal-types, library-based research and in-depth interviews have been the main methods employed in this study to categorise the existing APPROACHES to political change and to analyse the political developments in Iran during the past decade. In the first section of this paper, twelve APPROACHES to change is discussed instead of the old threefold categorisation (i.e., revolutionary, conservative and reformist). In the second section, it is argued why the reformist approach is the most effective and realistic way to promote democracy in Iran.

Abstract:

Background and Objectives: Gestational diabetes is one of the most common diseases in pregnancy with transient effects on fetuses and mothers. The aim of this study was to assess effects of aerobic training and dietary APPROACHES to stop hypertension diets on insulin response and resistance in women with gestational diabetes. Materials & Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, 30 obese women with gestational diabetes at 24– 28 weeks of gestation with an age range of 30– 40 years were selected using random sampling and randomly grouped into three tensample groups of dietary APPROACHES to stop hypertension diets, aerobic training, and dietary APPROACHES to stop hypertension diets and aerobic training. In aerobic training group, the eight-week training protocol started at 30% of the stored heart rate for 30 min and finished at 70% of the heart rate for 45 min. For macronutrients, dietary APPROACHES to stop hypertension diets were similar to normal diets but rich in fruits (4– 6) unit, vegetables (3– 6) unit, whole grains (6– 13) unit, low-fat dairy products (2– 4) unit and (1) unit of nuts, fats and oils (2– 3) unit as well as meats, poultries and fishes (2) unit and contained small quantities of saturated fats with 2400 mg of sodium per day. Blood sampling was carried out to assess biochemical variables after 12 h of fasting at the beginning and end of eight weeks. Fasting blood sugar, 2-h blood sugar and insulin were assessed in fasting blood samples. Data were analyzed using Shapirville test, Leven test, correlated T, analysis of variance and Bonferroni. Significance levels were reported for the statistical methods when p < 0. 05. Results: Results showed that eight weeks of aerobic training with dietary APPROACHES to stop hypertension diets decreased fasting blood sugar levels (p = 0. 001), 2-h blood sugar (p = 0. 001) and insulin resistance (p = 0. 02) and increased insulin levels (p = 0. 002) in women with gestational diabetes (p < 0. 05). Conclusion: It seems that aerobic training in combination with dietary APPROACHES to stop hypertension diets is effective in improving blood sugar control and blood insulin levels in women with gestational diabetes.

Abstract:

The aim of the present study was to examin the solutions for professional development of elementary school teachers in Lalegin. To this end, from among 175 elementar teachers, 110 were selected based on cluster random sampling procedure. To collect data, a researcher-made questionnaire was used. The questionnaire was a Likert-type instrument with five options. Using descriptive statistics (e. g. mean, SD, frequency percentage, etc. ) and inferential statistics (e. g. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, and one sample T-test etc. ) the data were analyzed. The results showed that there is a significant difference between the traditional and alternative APPROACHES. From among traditional models, supervision of the teacher in the classroom, in-service, and clinical supervision are the main priorities respectively. From among models of alernative approach, cooperative, using radios and virtual space, and professional development schools at precession models are of the highest priorities. Teacher networks at precession, school improvement plan, action research, inter-institutional collaboration, increasing teacher participation in new roles, professional development opportunities, other university-scools partnerships, skill development, reflective models, change-oriented staff development, other forms of distant education, project based, and self-directed development models are the next priorities respectively. In conclusion, curriculum developers are advised to do surveys to find priorities for teachers’ professional development.

Abstract:

BIDIRECTIONAL MODEL TRANSFORMATIONS (BX) ARE CONSIDERED AS ONE OF THE CORNERSTONES OF MODEL-DRIVEN ENGINEERING PARADIGM. BX RE-ESTABLISHES THE CONSISTENCY BETWEEN THE SOURCE AND TARGET MODELS, WHEN THEY ARE EVOLVED INDEPENDENTLY. RECENTLY, A LARGE NUMBER OF APPROACHES FOR BX ARE PROPOSED, EACH WITH DIFFERENT CAPABILITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS.AMONG THEM IS A NOVEL BX APPROACH, CALLED EVL+TRACE, WHICH HAVE PREVIOUSLY PROPOSED BY THE AUTHORS. IN ORDER TO CHOOSE AN APPROPRIATE BIDIRECTIONAL TRANSFORMATION LANGUAGE FOR A PARTICULAR TASK, A DEVELOPER NEEDS TO EVALUATE AND COMPARE BX APPROACHES. IN THIS PAPER, A COMPARISON METHOD IS PROPOSED IN WHICH A FAMILY OF 19 MAJOR CRITERIA, MAINLY INSPIRED FROM PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE EVALUATION CRITERIA AND BIDIRECTIONAL FEATURES, IS USED TO EVALUATE BX LANGUAGES. IN ORDER TO INVESTIGATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE EVL+TRACE APPROACH, IT IS COMPARED TO THREE WELL-KNOWN BIDIRECTIONAL LANGUAGES INCLUDING QUERY/VIEW/TRANSFORMATION-RELATIONAL (QVT-R), TRIPLE GRAPH GRAMMAR (TGG), AND JANUS TRANSFORMATION LANGUAGE (JTL) BASED ON THE ELICITED CRITERIA. THE RESULTS OF ANALYSIS DEMONSTRATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE COMPARISON METHOD FOR BX APPROACHES AND THE SUPERIORITIES AND WEAKNESSES OF EVL+TRACE. ...

Abstract:

Cryopreservation of embryos and gametes has become an indispensible service for infertility treatment. Vitrification is now a prevalent technique for cryopreservation in assisted reproductive technology (ART) replacing, in many cases, conventional slow cooling methodology.Fertility preservation in female patients has become a very topical issue. Various malignant and nonmalignant diseases have been successfully treated with high-dose chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Although many young patients receiving these treatments are at risk of developing reproductive failure, a number of fertility preservation options ranging from embryo cryopreservation to ovarian tissue cryopreservation are now available. Embryo cryopreservation is a well established technique for preserving fertility. The success rate with oocyte cryopreservation has been on the rise. Both oocyte and embryo freezing require ovarian stimulation and novel ovarian stimulation regimens utilizing aromatase inhibitors which have been developed for ovarian stimulation in women with estrogen sensitive cancer. Although ovarian tissue cryopreservation is a novel technology, it is the only fertility preservation option for children and the only treatment strategy that can restore ovarian function. In vitro maturation is a promising technology and can be applied in conjunction with ovarian tissue cryopreservation. There are 2 main methods for transplantation of frozen- thawed ovarian tissues: orthotopic and heterotopic transplantation. These technologies are investigational, although rapidly evolving, and their list of appropriate indications may expand in the future.
