IN SOME CASES, SUCH AS HIGH TEMPERATURE, POLYMER PROPERTIES ARE NOT SUFFICIENT TO EMPLOY. IT SEEMS THAT ADDITION OF A QUANTITY OF OTHER MATERIAL MAY MODIFY THE PROPERTIES OF POLYMERS. IN SPECIAL CASE ADDING THE CLAY NANOMINERALS (BENTONITE, HECTORITE, ETC.) TO POLYMER IMPROVE PROCESSABILITY AND FINAL PRODUCT PROPERTIES LIKE TENSILE STRENGTH [1], HEAT DISTORTION TEMPERATURES [2], THERMAL AND ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITIES [3], FIRE RETARDANCY [4] AND ENHANCED GAS BARRIER PROPERTIES [5].
