Abstract: 

In today's competitive world, quality plays an important role in capturing the market and quality improvement is considered as one of the main reasons for matching and surpassing the competitors. In other words, quality improvement can help companies to gain a bigger share of the market. Quality Function Deployment (qfd) is one of the tools that have been used lately by different companies to design the customer requirements into the products or services. In this paper, a new method for prioritization of the customer requirements considered in the first table of qfd is proposed. Based on the ranking of alternatives, the importance of customer requirements are determined. A real world example is used to explain and evaluate the performance of the proposed method. The results are also compared to traditional methods such as Analytical Hierarchy Process and Comparative Attribute Analysis which are usually used for prioritization purposes.

Abstract: 

In today's business world, agility is considered as one of the most important characteristics in competitive industries. Hence, this study presents a new approach toward promoting organizational agility in companies and institutions. The proposed approach is based on the Quality Function Deployment (qfd) technique, and, is accomplished by constructing two House of Quality (HOQ) Sequentially. As the first step, the most important competitive bases related to desired industry, should be identified.The second step is allocated to identify and strengthen those agile attributes which are needed for the company in order to achieve the competitive bases. Finally, as the third Step, proper agile enablers that are suitable tools to achieve the mentioned agile attributes, identified and being exploited.As a result, the organization can attain market competitive bases relying on a set of appropriate agile enablers related to its specialized field of activity.In this paper, the whole scaffold exploits fuzzy logic to translate linguistics judgements of experts into numerical values.Eventually, an illustrative example, grounded on data available in literature, is presented and discussed to investigate the proposed approach analytically.

Abstract: 

Supplier selection which is one of the most important activities in the supply chain, ultimately leads to customer satisfaction of organizational performance. Considering the inherent uncertainties in business environment, current study proposes an approach for selecting suppliers in order to meet customer requirements, which is a combination of quality function deployment and TOPSIS based on grey theory. The case of the study is a frequently-used part of Roshanaie Arm Industrial Co., which named astronomical time switch. Interviewing representatives of customers resulted in identification of 30 general and specific requirements of customers. Using focus group and eliminating unrelated requirements, 14 of them remained for using in quality function deployment method. After translation the customer requirements to technical specifications by engineers, 43 specifications were located in the house of quality matrix and with using and analyzing grey numbers, the weights of each were determined. TOPSIS method was utilized with grey data in order to rank the 13 domestic and international suppliers in order to determine the preferred supplier. It should be minded that purchasing parts through selected supplier enhances the conformity of technical requirements and customer needs and yields highest possible quality.
