Abstract

 BACKGROUND AND AIM: Q FEVER IS A GLOBALLY DISTRIBUTED RICKETTSIAL DISEASE CAUSED BY BACTERIUM COXIELLA BURNETII. ANIMAL SUCH AS CATTLE, SHEEP AND GOATS ARE THE MAIN RESERVOIRS OF INFECTION. THE PATHOGEN IS MAINLY TRANSMITTED TO HUMANS THROUGH INHALATION OF AEROSOLIZED ANIMAL WASTE. BEING EXPOSED TO LIVESTOCK, SLAUGHTER HOUSES WORKERS ARE ONE OF THE MOST OCCUPATIONALLY AT RISK PERSONNEL TO BECOME INFECTED WITH COXIELLA BURNETII. ...
