Abstract

 BACKGROUND: RUTHENIUM OXIDE (RUO2) HAS VERSATILE FUNCTIONALITY. IT HAS BEEN EXTENSIVELY USED AS CATALYST IN ORGANIC AND INORGANIC REACTIONS AND SM3+ SHOWS FAST OXYGEN ION MOBILITY AND BETTER CATALYTIC PROPERTIES [1]. NEW RESEARCH HAVE SHOWN THAT WHEN RARE EARTH ELEMENTS ARE DOPED IN METAL OXIDE STRUCTURES, THEY CAN OVERCOME SOME OF THEIR DISADVANTAGES SUCH AS UNREACHED SENSITIVITY AND SELECTIVITY. THERE ARE SOME ELEMENTS WHICH HAVE BEEN DOPED ON RUTHENIUM OXIDE: CO, ZNO, CU2O, PT, Y2O3, SB, NB, NI, SN, ZN, MG, TIO2.
