Abstract

 IN THIS PAPER, AN EFFECTIVE METHOD IS PROPOSED TO DETERMINE THE NUMERICAL SOLUTION OF INTEGRO-DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS. THIS METHOD IS BASED ON A NEW SET OF ORTHOGONAL HYBRID FUNCTIONS (HFS) INCLUDED SAMPLE-AND-HOLD FUNCTIONS (SHFS) AND TRIANGULAR FUNCTIONS (TFS). THE HFS ARE UTILIZED AS BASIS TO REDUCE THE SOLUTION OF INTEGRO-DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS TO THE SOLUTION OF ALGEBRAIC EQUATIONS. A NUMERICAL EXAMPLE IS PROVIDED TO ILLUSTRATE THE ACCURACY AND COMPUTATIONAL EFFICIENCY OF THE PROPOSED METHOD.
