Abstract

 BACKGROUND: POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME AS ONE OF THE MOST COMMON ENDOCRINE DISORDERS AFFECTED ON 6-25% OF WOMEN IN REPRODUCTIVE AGES. THE SYNDROME IS ASSOCIATED WITH NUMEROUS DISEASES AND DISORDERS.OBESITY AS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FINDINGS IN PCOS IS ALONE RISK FACTOR FOR MANY DISEASES THAT CAN BE SEEN IN MORE THAN 50% OF WOMEN. INSULIN RESISTANCE (IR) IS A MAJOR FACTOR IN THE PATHOGENESIS OF PCOS AS WELL AS NUTRITIONAL INTERVENTIONS SHOWED SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT ON IR. THIS REVIEW AIMED TO INVESTIGATE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN NUTRITION AND REDUCE THE INCIDENCE OF POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME.
