Abstract

 IN MANY ENGINEERING PROBLEMS, THE HEAD LOSS CALCULATION IN PRESSURIZED FLOW BASED ON DARCY-WEISBACKH (D-W) FRICTION FACTOR IS ONE OF INEVITABLE PARTS OF SOLUTION PROCESS. ALTHOUGH VARIOUS EXPLICIT CORRELATIONS, AS ALTERNATIVES FOR IMPLICIT COLEBROOK-WHITE, HAVE ALREADY BEEN PRESENTED, MORE RIGOROUS CORRELATION IS STILL REQUIRED. IN THIS RESEARCH, A NEW MODEL, WHICH IS A MODIFIED VERSION OF ONE OF HIGH ACCURATE RELATIONS, WAS PRESENTED. THE ACCURACY OF THE PROPOSED CORRELATION WAS COMPARED WITH 33 EQUATIONS AVAILABLE IN LITERATURE USING SIX CRITERIA. AS THESE EQUATIONS WERE SORTED IN FAVOR OF ACHIEVING THE BEST ACCURACY, THE RECOMMENDED MODEL TAKES THE FIRST PLACE. FURTHERMORE, A LARGE PIPE NETWORK WAS ANALYZED BY FIRST TENTH ACCURATE RELATION RESULTING FROM THE PREVIOUS COMPARISON. ACCORDING TO THE RESULTS, THE INTRODUCED CORRELATION PERFORMS AS THE MOST EFFICIENT AND ACCURATE IN SOLVING WATER NETWORK, AS ONE OF ITS APPLICATION. FINALLY, IT CAN BE CONCLUDED THAT THE PROPOSED MODEL PRECISELY CALCULATE D-W FRICTION FACTOR IN PRESSURIZED TURBULENT FLOW.
