Abstract

BACKGROUND AND AIM: PSEUDOMONASAERUGINOSA AS AN OPPORTUNISTIC PATHOGEN IS THE MAJOR CAUSE OF NOSOCOMIAL BURN INFECTIONS. EFFECTOR PROTEINS ARE AMONG THE VIRULENCE FACTOR OF P. AERUGINOSA THAT ARE SECRETED BY TYPE III SECRETION SYSTEM WHICH INJECTS THEM INTO THE EUKARYOTIC HOST CELLS. THE AIM OF THIS STUDY WAS TO DETERMINE THE PREVALENCE OF GENE ENCODING CYTOTOXINS; EXOT, EXOY, EXOS AND EXO U AMONG THE P. AERUGINOSA ISOLATED FROM BURN PATIENTS.
