Abstract

 IDENTIFYING LOCATION AND OPERATION OF DGS ARE VITAL IN THE EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE OF MGS. THIS PAPER GIVES A NOVEL OPTIMIZATION METHOD FOR FINDING THE OPTIMAL LOCATION AND OPERATION OF DGS. IN ORDER TO MAXIMIZE THE BENEFITS OBTAINED BY DGS, CAREFUL ATTENTION HAS TO BE PAID TO THEIR LOCATION. IN THE FIRST PART OF THIS PAPER, CAPACITY IS FIXED FOR EACH DG SOURCE AND THREE CHIEF FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DG UNITS’ LOCATION PROCEDURE ARE INSPECTED THROUGH A MULTI-OBJECTIVE OPTIMIZATION METHOD. ONE OF THE CHIEF FACTORS CONSIDERED IN THIS PAPER IS THE VOLTAGE STABILITY INDEX. THE SYSTEM LOSSES AND NETWORK VOLTAGE VARIATION ARE THE OTHER TWO INDICES TO BE STUDIED IN THIS PAPER. A HYBRID OPTIMIZATION ALGORITHM IS PROPOSED TO SOLVE THE PROPOSED PROBLEM BY COMBING THE HARMONY ALGORITHM (HS) AND MUTATION AND CROSSOVER OPERATORS OF THE GENETIC ALGORITHM (GA). IN THE SECOND PART, ECONOMIC ANALYSIS IS DONE BASED ON GAME THEORY UNTIL THE CONTRACT PRICES CALCULATED WITH THIS METHODOLOGY REPRESENT EQUILIBRIUM BETWEEN THE PROFIT MAXIMIZATION PURSUED BY THE DG OWNER AND THE MINIMIZATION OF THE COST FOR PURCHASING POWER FROM THE SUBSTATION AND THE DG OWNER. THE PERFORMANCE OF THE PROPOSED METHOD IS EVALUATED USING IEEE 33-BUS STANDARD DISTRIBUTION NETWORK.
