Abstract

FOR EVALUATION THE RESPONSE OF SOIL PROPERTIES AND PLANT TRAITS OF SWEET CORN TO DIFFERENT LEVELS OF VERMICOMPOST AND NITROGEN FERTILIZERS, AN EXPERIMENT WAS CARRIED OUT AS FACTORIAL BASED, COMPLET RANDOMIZED DESIGN (CRD), WITH 3 REPLICATIONS IN GREENHOUSE OF MIYANEH BRANCH, ISLAMID AZAD UNIVERSITY. FOR THIS PURPOSE THREE LEVEL OF VERMICOMPOST (0, 20 AND 30 TON.HA-1) AND 3 LEVEL OF NITROGEN FERTILIZER (0, 100 AND 200 KG.HA-1) WERE USED AS TREATMENTS. THE RESULT SHOWED THAT APPLICATION OF VERMICOMPOST IN SOIL, CAUSED AN INCREASE IN ORGANIC CARBON (OC), AND NUTRIENTS ELEMENTS WHICH CREATED SUITABLE CONDITION FOR PLANT GROWTH. GROUPING RESULT SHOWED THAT TREATMENT OF 30 TON.HA-1 OF VERMICOMPOST HAD MORE EFFECTS THAN OTHER STUDIED TREATMENTS. IT COULD BE SUGGESTED THAT USAGE OF 30 TON.HA-1 BE SUFFICIENT FOR OPTIMUM GROWTH OF SWEET CORN. THIS PLANT COULD SHOWED GOOD RESPONSE TO ORGANIC MANURE, THAT ITS RESULT WAS INCREASE PLANT HEIGHT, NUMBER OF LEAF IN SHRUB AND DRY WEIGHT. ALSO, FOR INCORPORATION OF VERMICOMPOST AND NITROGEN FERTILIZER ARE ADVISABLE AMOUNT 30TON.HA-1 AND 100KG.HA-1 ACCORDING TO RESULTS IN THIS EXPERIMENT.
