Abstract

 DRUG DELIVERY IS ONE IMPORTANT APPLICATION OF NANOTECHNOLOGY AND IN PARTICULAR THE TARGETED DELIVERY OF ANTICANCER DRUGS USING NANOTUBES. A PROPER UNDERSTANDING OF ENCAPSULATION OF DRUG MOLECULES INSIDE NANOCARRIERS IS VITAL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF NANOSCALE DRUG DELIVERY. BORONNITRIDE NANOTUBES (BNNTS) ARE INHERENTLY NONCYTOTOXIC AND MAY BE SUPERIOR TO CNTS FOR APPLYING IN BIOMATERIAL SYSTEMS. IN THE PRESENT STUDY, MOLECULAR DYNAMICS (MD) SIMULATIONS WERE UTILIZED TO INVESTIGATE THE ENCAPSULATION OF ANTI-CANCER DRUGS (GEMCITABINE AND CARBOPLATIN) INSIDE BORON NITRIDE NANOTUBES. ACCORDING TO THE RESULTS OF ENCAPSULATION STUDY, ENTITLED DRUGS WERE COMPATIBLE WITH BNNTS AND PREFERRED TO LOCATE INSIDE NANOTUBES. ...
