Abstract

 INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES: OLIVE OIL IS ONE OF THE FEW EDIBLE VEGETABLE OILS THAT IS CONSUMED UNREFINED, WHICH IMPLIES THAT IT CONTAINS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MINOR BIOACTIVE SUBSTANCES. AMONG THEM, PHENOLIC COMPOUNDS HAVE RECEIVED A GREAT DEAL OF ATTENTION OVER RECENT YEARS BECAUSE OF THE BENEFICIAL PROPERTIES ATTRIBUTED TO HUMAN HEALTH. THE PRESENT STUDY AIMED AT THE ANALYSIS OF ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITIES OF THE OLIVE OIL AGAINST PATHOGENIC BACTERIA (STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS, ESCHERICHIA COLI, KLEBSIELLA PNEUMONIAEI AND HELICOBACTET PYLORI).
