Abstract

BACKGROUNDS AND OBJECTIVES: CURRENTLY RAPID DIAGNOSIS OF PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS PRIMARILY IS BASED ON LIGHT MICROSCOPY OF ACID-FAST ORGANISMS IN SPUTUM WITH 50-70%SENSITIVITY. SINCE THE BACTERIOLOGIC EXAMINATION OF SPUTUM, WHICH IS THE MOST FREQUENTLY, USED MATERIAL IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS, CARRIES A TRANSMISSION RISK OF INFECTION AND AS IT CANNOT BE OBTAINED FROM SOME PATIENTS, THERE IS NEED FOR INVESTIGATION OF DIFFERENT MATERIALS. IN PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS PATIENTS, THE DETECTION OF M. TUBERCULOSIS DNA IN PERIPHERAL BLOOD MONONUCLEAR CELLS MAY BE HELPFUL IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF TUBERCULOSIS…..
