Abstract

 INTRODUCTION: CELL-TO-CELL COMMUNICATION IS A CRITICAL REQUIREMENT FOR DEVELOPMENT, TISSUE REGENERATION AND CONSERVATION OF MULTICELLULAR ORGANISMS. TUNNELING NANOTUBES (TNTS), AS A NOVEL BIOLOGICAL TOOL IN CELL-TO-CELL COMMUNICATION OVER LONG DISTANCE, ALLOW FOR DIRECT TRANSFER OF THE MEMBRANE COMPONENTS SUCH AS SMALL GOLGI/ER VESICLES, LYSOSOMES, AND MITOCHONDRIA.
