Abstract

 OBJECTIVE: IN PHYSIOLOGICAL SITUATIONS, CELLS GROW IN A THREE-DIMENSIONAL MICROENVIRONMENT. IN VITRO STUDY, CELLS WERE USUALLY CULTURED TWO-DIMENSIONALLY THAT IS CAUSED THEIR METABOLISM, GENE EXPRESSION, EXTRACELLULAR MATRIX PROTEINS EXPRESSION AND CELL MORPHOLOGY WILL BE DIFFERENT FROM THOSE UNDER IN VIVO SITUATIONS. TISSUE ENGINEERING IS A PROMISING SCIENTIFIC APPROACH THAT TRIES TO DEVELOP BIOLOGICAL REPLACEMENTS FROM ISOLATED CELLS AND THREE-DIMENSIONAL (3-D) POLYMERIC SCAFFOLDS. ALGINATE HYDROGEL HAS BEEN STUDIED AS 3-D BIOCOMPATIBLE SCAFFOLD FOR CELL CULTURE BECAUSE OF ITS TOO EASY PRODUCTION AND ABILITY TO ENCAPSULATE CELLS. ADIPOSE-DERIVED STEM CELLS (ADSCS) ARE ABUNDANT AND OBTAINED BY MINIMALLY INVASIVE PROCEDURES, WHICH FACILITATE USE OF THEM IN REGENERATIVE MEDICINE APPLICATIONS; ALSO ADSCS CAN EXHIBIT PROPERTIES OF NEURONAL AND GELIAL CELLS. IN THIS STUDY, WE COMPARED THREE DIMENSIONAL CULTURED OF HUMAN ADSCS IN ALGINATE HYDROGEL WHIT TWO-DIMENSIONAL CULTURED OF THESE CELLS FOR GENERATING NEURAL-LIKE CELLS...
