Abstract

 IN THIS STUDY, THE ADSORPTION OF AN ACIDIC DYE (ERIONYL BLUE) (EAR) ONTO POLY (ETHYLENE TEREPHTHALTE) - GRAFTED- METHYL METHACRYLATE / ACRYLIC ACID AS A NEW ADSORBENT HAS BEEN ACHIEVED THROUGH BATCH TECHNIQUE “ [1, 2] ”. THE EFFECTS OF PH, ADSORBATE CONCENTRATION, ADSORBENT DOSE, TEMPERATURE AND CONTACT TIME HAVE BEEN STUDIED. THE BEST RESULTS HAVE BEEN RECORDED (PH=4.0, T =30 MIN, ADSORBATE CONCENTRATION=170 MG/G, ADSORBENT DOSE=0.2G). THE BEST ISOTHERM AND KINETIC MODELS HAVE BEEN DETERMINED FREUNDLICH AND INTRA-PARTICLE DIFFUSION, RESPECTIVELY. THE RESULTS OF THE THERMODYNAMIC PARAMETERS AND ACTIVATION ENERGY SHOWED THAT THE PROCESS WAS PHYSISORPTION, ENDOTHERMIC AND SPONTANEOUS.
