Abstract

 IN THIS PAPER, AN ANALYTICAL EQUATION OF RADIAL DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION (RDF) PROPOSED BY XU AND HU (Y. N. XU, Y. HU, FLUID PHASE EQUIL., 30 (1986) 221-228) THAT ENABLES TO CALCULATE THE INTERNAL PRESSURE OF METHANOL AND METHANE WERE EMPLOYED. THEN THE VALUES OF SOLUBILITY PARAMETERS OF METHANOL AND METHANE HAVE ESTIMATED ACCORDING TO THE CALCULATED VALUES OF THE INTERNAL PRESSURE BY TWO DIFFERENT INTERMOLECULAR POTENTIALS. A COMPARISON OF THE EXPERIMENTAL AND THE ESTIMATED VALUES OF THE SOLUBILITY PARAMETER SHOWS THE EFFECT OF HYDROGEN BONDING FOR METHANOL. WITHOUT THIS EFFECT WITH L-J POTENTIAL THE ESTIMATED VALUE IS SO WRONG FOR METHANOL.
