Abstract

 INTRODUCTION: THE DIVERSE APPLICATION OF HYDROGEN BONDING HAS BEEN OF GREAT INTEREST IN BOTH CHEMICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL SCIENCES [1-3]. INTRAMOLECULAR AND INTERMOLECULAR HYDROGEN BONDS ARE BELIEVED TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BINDING BETWEEN NUCLEIC ACID (NA) BASES, THE FORMATION OF DNA DOUBLE AND TRIPLE HELICES, THE STRUCTURE OF CARBOHYDRATES, AND THE FOLDING PATTERNS OF PROTEINS. THE PIONEERING WORK OF WATSON AND CRICK REVEALS THAT AT (ADENINE-THYMINE) AND GC (GUANINE- CYTOSINE) BASE PAIR, WHICH ARE STABILIZED BY TWO AND THREE HYDROGEN BONDS. INTERACTION BETWEEN BASE PAIR AND DIFFERENT MATERIAL ISSUBJECT OF VAST RESEARCHES.THE AIM OF THIS RESEARCH IS TO INVESTIGATION THE INTERACTION BETWEEN CYTOSINE AND GUANINE BASE PAIR AND CARBON MONOXIDE AND EFFECT OF CARBON MONOXIDE ON THE STABILITIES OF THE BASE PAIR.
