Abstract

 THE PRESENT WORK DESCRIBES THE KINETICS AND ISOTHERM ACID BLUE193 DYE ADSORPTION FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS ONTO PERLITE GRANULES.THE EFFECT OF INTIAL CONCENTRATION AND PH ON ADSORPTION CAPACITY WAS INVESTAGED. THE OPTIMUM PH, AFTER ADSORPTION EXPERIMENTS FOR ACID BLUE193 DYE, WAS FOUND 1.5. ADSORPTION ISOTHERMS AND EQUILIBRIUM ADSORPTION CAPACITIES WERE DETERMINED BY THE FITTING OF EXPERIMENTAL DATAS TO TWO WELL-KNOWN ISOTHERM MODELS INCLUDING LANGMUIR AND FREUNDLICH. ALTHOUGH THE CORRELATION COEFFICIENTS OBSERVED FOR THE TWO MODELS ARE VERY CLOSE TO EACH OTHER. IN THIS SECTION THE MAXIMUM ADSORPTION CAPACITY (QMAX) WAS CALCULATED TOO (IT WAS 34.84 MG/G AT 25OC AND PH=1.5).THE KINETIC MODELS, PSEUDO-FIRST ORDER, PSEUDO-SECOND ORDER WERE USED TO FIT THE KINETIC DATAS AND PREDICT THE ADSORPTION RATE CONSTANTS (PSEUDO-SECOND ORDER EQUATION PRESENTED THE MOST SUFFICIENT CORRELATION, R2>0.996).
