Abstract

 ENHANCEMENT OF TURBULENT HEAT TRANSFER COEEFICIENT OF WATER IN A STRAIGHT TUBE INVESTIGATED USING WIRE COIL INSERTS AND CNT NANOFLUID EXPERIMENTALLY. CONSIDERABLE ENHANCEMENT ACHEIVED BY WIRE COIL INSERTS ESPECIALLY IN LOW REYNOLDS NUMBERS AND AMOUNT OF ENHANCEMENT DECREASE WITH INCREASING REYNOLDS NUMBER. COMBINATION OF 0.1%WT CNT-WATER NANOFLUID INJECTION WITH INSTALLATION OF WIRE COIL INSERTS INSIDE A TUBE, INCREASES THE ENHANCEMENT MORE. ALSO THE EFFECT OF ENHANCED TUBES ON A SHELL AND TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER DESIGN PARAMETERS INVESTIGATED USING BELL- DELAWARE RAPID DESIGN ALGHORITHM (RDA). RESULTS SHOWS THAT USE OF ENHANCED TUBE DECREASES AREA AND SIZE OF HEAT EXCHANGER NOTICEABLY.
